Job DescriptionMitsubishi Fiber Laser Field Support Technician Department: Laser Service Location: Milwaukee, WI Your impact, from day one Picture arriving at a manufacturer on Tuesday morning: their Mitsubishi laser is down, orders are waiting, and the team is counting on you. You walk the line, listen to the operators, study the wiring diagram, and trace the fault. By afternoon, the machine is cutting clean again—and production is back on track. That’s the difference you’ll make, week after week, traveling Monday–Friday to support customers across the U.S., with predominantly regional trips plus some nationwide and occasional international assignments. We’ll equip you with robust training so you can grow a lasting career in machinery and manufacturing technology. How you’ll contribute • Own on-site service for Mitsubishi laser cutting systems: assess issues, troubleshoot quickly, and complete accurate repairs., • Perform mechanical and electrical procedures, from teardown/rebuild to alignment and fine adjustments., • Offer phone-based remote support when a rapid triage can minimize downtime., • Set clear expectations with customers on diagnostics, schedules, and outcomes., • Use schematics, wiring and block diagrams to zero in on root causes and implement fixes., • Produce thorough service records and resolution notes; keep documentation current., • Prepare and submit timely, precise expense reports., • Uphold readiness of tools, test equipment, and service vehicles., • Support additional initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and team success.What you’ll need to succeed, • Background with machining, manufacturing processes, or industrial machinery., • Proficiency with diagnostic and precision tools: voltmeters, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators., • Confidence with Windows-based computers and service applications., • Clear, professional communication in writing and speech., • Comfort working at heights when necessary., • Valid driver’s license with a clean record., • Ability to travel extensively Monday–Friday.Preferred preparation, • Associate degree or technical credential in electronics, mechanics, mechatronics, or related areas., • Demonstrated success resolving electrical and mechanical problems., • Fluency reading manuals, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams., • Experience using electrical test instruments (e.g., voltmeter, oscilloscope)., • Experience with precision metrology (e.g., indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges).Where you’ll work, • Customer facilities indoors, with exposure to temperature variation, noise, and industrial environments., • Frequent travel/driving via personal vehicle or company‑approved rental; reimbursement per company policy., • Occasional overtime., • Safe operation of a motor vehicle required.Physical capabilities, • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, and repetitive hand work., • Lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally., • Push/pull equipment up to 50 lbs.; use carts/mechanical aids for heavier loads., • Strong visual acuity with accurate color recognition.Technical proficiency targets, • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills, • 120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems, • Electrical Installation, • Electrical Troubleshooting, • Electrical Repair, • High Voltage Systems, • Pneumatics Troubleshooting, • Service, • Maintenance and Repair Skills, • Industrial Electrical Experience, • Field Service Readiness, • CNC Machine Setup & Changeover, • Industrial Electrical Systems, • Hydraulic Systems & Components, • Mechanical Systems & Component Repair, • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), • Electrical Schematic Reading, • Equipment Installation & Wiring, • Equipment Repair & Maintenance, • Equipment InstallationSystems you’ll encounter, • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens), • Servo MotorsOur commitment To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
