Your job will likely take you all over the world-and far out of your comfort zone. If you choose to go the Hospital Corpsman Advanced Technical Field route, you will work in extreme and sometimes precarious conditions. From deep-sea diving to combat missions to flying in MH-60 Romeo helicopters, you will train outside the realm of conventional military forces to prepare for any mission. Company Description The Sandy Hook Pilots’ Association (SHPA) provides pilotage services to all foreign flag vessels and American vessels under register (regulated vessels) entering or departing the Port of New York & New Jersey, the Hudson River, the East River, Atlantic City, Jamaica Bay, and the Long Island Sound as required by state law. Pilotage is provided on a 24-hour basis, 365 days of the year in all weather conditions and port circumstances. Overview of Position The SHPA is in search of a Pilot Boat Captain. The Pilot Boat Captain reports to the Marine Superintendent and Director of Operations. The Pilot Boat Captain will have overall responsibility for the safety and management of their assigned Pilot Station Boat.
