Job Description Job Title: Electrician Job Description As an Electrician you work on rough-in through finish, with a strong focus on conduit work, panel and lighting installations, and troubleshooting. You perform field installation activities and provide hands-on support in wiring, conduit bending, and box and outlet installation on commercial projects. Responsibilities • Install, wire, and terminate electrical panels and lighting systems for commercial projects., • Install boxes, outlets, and related electrical devices according to plans and code requirements., • Run and bend conduit for 120–480 volt systems, ensuring clean, accurate, and code-compliant installations., • Read and interpret blueprints to plan layout, routing, and installation of electrical systems., • Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs or adjustments., • Coordinate and oversee daily on-site electrical activities to maintain productivity and quality., • Verify that all wiring, conduit, and terminations meet safety standards and project specifications., • Use hand tools and cordless drills to perform precise cutting, fastening, and assembly tasks., • Collaborate with other trades on site to sequence work efficiently and avoid conflicts., • 3–10 years of electrical experience in commercial environments., • Hands-on experience with wiring, panel installations, and lighting installations., • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints accurately., • Proven troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and components., • OSHA 30 certification., • Ownership and proficient use of personal hand tools and a cordless drill., • Experience working on electrical projects., • Demonstrated ability to organize work and maintain productivity on active job sites., • Strong attention to detail in conduit bending, wiring, and device installation. Work Environment You work primarily on commercial building projects based out of Long Island. Typical hours run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. The role is field-based on active construction sites, where you regularly use hand tools, cordless drills, and equipment for conduit bending and electrical installation. The environment requires adherence to standard construction site safety practices and appropriate job-site attire suitable for electrical and construction work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
