Job Description The Sheet Metal Fabricator will be assigned to operate designated equipment within the Metal Shop for the assigned site. The Fabricator will interpret technical drawings, select appropriate tooling, set up the equipment for production, make any required adjustments, and operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently to produce high-quality parts to required specifications. The Fabricator will also perform routine maintenance on the machine. This role requires strong attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of metal fabrication principles, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality standards. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 4:00 pm to 12:30 am Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine correct specifications and tolerances., • Install, align, and secure dies, punches, and other tooling in the press according to specifications., • Adjust machine settings such as ram stroke, pressure, feed rate, and stops to ensure accurate and efficient production., • Load materials (e.g., metal sheets, coils, blanks) into the machine manually or using handling equipment., • Set up and operate the press brake machinery, ensuring accurate machine settings and adjustments., • Perform test punches and make necessary adjustments to achieve specified dimensions and angles., • Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, protractors) to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards., • Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or inconsistencies and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency., • Perform routine maintenance on the punch brake, including lubrication, minor repairs and cleaning., • Troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and report more complex issues to maintenance personnel., • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Maintain a clean and organized work area., • Accurately complete production records and reports., • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production deadlines., • May be required to train or assist less experienced operators., • May be required to operate other related machinery or perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications, • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders., • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments., • Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication principles, material properties, and tooling selection., • Ability to perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting., • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills., • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and regulations., • High school diploma or equivalent is required., • Proven experience (preferably 2+ years) as a Punch Press Operator in a manufacturing environment., • Experience operating Accurpress and/or equivalent manual press brake machinery, • Experience with specific press brake control systems (e.g., Accurpress) highly desirable., • Forklift certification is desirable., • Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift materials as required., • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, • Visual acuity to read blueprints, read measurements and inspect parts, • The job can be physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and potentially lifting and moving heavy materials (up to 50lbs)., • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, dust, and temperature variations (with appropriate PPE provided)., • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
