Driving & Delivery Responsibilities: Safe & Professional Transportation Operate company-owned and leased trucks (Class A) to deliver and pick up building materials • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely service, • Drive safely in varying weather and road conditions throughout our service territory, • Maintain strict compliance with all DOT hours of service regulations, • Represent Parksite with professionalism and courtesy during every customer interaction, • Communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff, and dispatch Load Securement & Cargo Management Secure loads using proper tie-down techniques including: • Winch and ratchet strap systems, • Chains and binders, • Edge protection and load blocking, • Operate side-curtain wall systems for cargo protection, • Ensure proper weight distribution and balance for safe transport, • Protect materials from weather and road debris during transit, • Verify load security before departure and during trip inspections, • Assist with hand loading and unloading of building materials (50+ lbs. regularly; up to 90 lbs. occasionally), • Operate forklifts when required to assist with warehouse operations, • Use proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment, • Ensure materials are delivered without damage, • Work collaboratively with warehouse teams during loading operations, • Conduct post-trip inspections and report findings, • Complete required DOT inspection reports and documentation, • Check fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and safety equipment, • Report on mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions immediately, • Maintain cleanliness of cab and truck exterior, • Ensure all required documentation is current (registration, insurance, permits), • Maintain accurate driver logs in compliance with DOT regulations, • Document proof of delivery and customer signatures, • Record mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance activities, • Submit required reports to dispatch and management, • Maintain electronic logging device (ELD) records Maintaining Excellence Safety & Professionalism: • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and gloves, • Follow all safety rules and procedures as outlined in the company manual, • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions, • Report safety hazards, incidents, or near-misses immediately, • Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, • Provide exceptional customer service as the face of Parksite, • Follow instructions from the Operations Manager and dispatch coordinators, • Work collaboratively with warehouse and office teams to meet delivery schedules, • Perform other duties assigned to support overall logistics operations, • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude, • Valid CDL Class A license (current and in good standing), • Minimum 3 years of professional commercial driving experience, • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations, as defined by company and DOT standards, • Basic math skills: ability to calculate distances, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules, • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, bills of lading, route maps, and DOT regulations (basic English proficiency required), • Excellent time management and organizational abilities, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, • Professional communication skills with customers and team members, • Ability to regularly lift and move materials up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 90 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation, consistent with DOT requirements, • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, snow, rain, outdoor elements), • Able to sit for extended periods while driving, • Capable of frequent holding, grasping, pushing, and pulling during loading/unloading operations, • Ability to climb into and out of truck cab and onto flatbed as needed, • Exposure to bright lights, noise, and temperature extremes Pre-Employment Requirements • Ability to pass DOT-regulated drug and alcohol screening, background check, and employment verification in accordance with applicable law, • Authorization to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications: The following experience is a plus but not required - we're willing to train motivated candidates! • Flatbed trucking experience with building materials, • Forklift operation experience, • Lumber or building product industry experience, • Experience with side-curtain flatbed trailers, • Tarping and load protection experience, • Knowledge of the Eastern United States delivery territory, • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs), • Previous experience in a distribution or logistics environment Physical Demands & Work Environment: • Frequent use of hands and feet for grasping, lifting, securing loads, and operating equipment controls, • Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 90 lbs, • Frequent pushing and pulling of truck side-curtain walls and use of winches and ratchet straps for load securement, • Continuous standing and walking for most of the shift (often 8–10+ hours), • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, gripping, and handling materials such as pallets, panels, lumber, straps, and tools, • Occasional climbing, squatting, and kneeling to complete assigned tasks, • Extended operation of forklifts, including frequent mounting and dismounting during picking, staging, and loading, • Ability to work at varying heights when placing or retrieving product from racking, • Maintain balance, depth perception, and spatial awareness while operating forklifts in tight aisles and around moving equipment, • Exposure to bright lights, loud noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments Schedule: • Full-time position, • Day shift schedule (typically early morning starts), • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods as needed Career Growth Opportunities Starting as a Truck Driver Associate opens doors to advancement within our organization: • Senior Driver - handle specialized routes and mentor new drivers, • Lead Driver - coordinate driver schedules and support logistics operations, • Driver Trainer - become certified to train and onboard new driver associates, • Operations Coordinator - oversee routing, scheduling, and fleet management, • Transportation Supervisor - manage driver teams and operations Qualifications are a guide, not a checklist.
