BIS - Day Habilitation Program - We are looking for committed and energetic Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS) who will conduct, assess and develop behavior support plans, address challenges and train our Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in the Day Habilitation Program. (Monday – Friday shifts available at one of our 12 Day Hab locations, depending on need and availability) BIS - Residential – Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS) for the Residential program must be able to travel to assigned residential locations in Manhattan, Bronx, Queens and Long Island locations. As a BIS you will provide functional behavioral analysis and behavior/psychological assessments, develop and monitor behavior support plans and assist with the development and implementation of individual goals. These roles can have some flexibility in start and end times, with weekly office hours. Job Description This is a full-time position with 35-hour workweek and flexible/hybrid schedule. Hope For Youth has an exciting and rare Therapist position opening in its PINS Diversion program. The Nassau County PINS (Person In Need of Supervision) Diversion program is designed to divert youth who are at risk, from PINS petitions that require court involvement. PINS Diversion services families with children up to the age of 18 in Nassau County. We are also honored to announce that the Hauppauge Industrial Association of Long Island (HIA-LI), an advocate for its member organizations since 1978, has recognized HFY as their Not-For Profit Business Award honoree for Excellence in 2025! Families that apply for diversion services have issues including but not limited to school truancy, gang involvement, runaway behaviors, mental health and substance abuse issues. The PINS diversion program provides short term intensive in-home, family-centered interventions with an overarching goal that will prevent out of home placements, teach problem solving skills to the families, and linkage to a community-based system of care. A unique component to the diversion program is the incorporation of Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT). MDFT is an evidence based program designed to meet the needs of youth struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues. Paid training in this model provided to the hired Therapist during normal work hours at no cost.
