Job DescriptionJob Title: Electro Mechanical Maintenance Technician Job Description In this role, you will maintain all plant equipment to ensure efficient operation. You will utilize preventive maintenance programs and safe workplace practices to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring optimal performance throughout the plant. Responsibilities • Ensure optimal functioning of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing planned (preventative) and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, and processing equipment., • Be available for emergency repairs in breakdown situations., • Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuous production operation., • Use hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts/equipment on plant and production equipment., • Troubleshoot and maintain diverse equipment including motor controls, BFD, refrigeration, mixers, conveyors, sensors, printers, and packaging equipment., • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service., • Complete work orders in a timely manner while maintaining high quality standards., • Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees to notify them of problems and/or concerns that may restrict production efficiency., • Ensure paperwork is complete, clear, legible, and accurate, documenting all required information in accordance with SOPs., • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities to improve processes., • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area., • Follow required safe work practices including lockout-tagout procedures, wearing of required PPE in designated areas, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints.Essential Skills, • Troubleshooting skills in mechanical, repair, and electrical areas., • Experience in industrial equipment maintenance., • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise., • Preventive maintenance experience., • Proficiency as a maintenance technician in an industrial setting., • PLC troubleshooting knowledge.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High School Diploma or GED preferred; formal engineering/maintenance training desired., • Minimum two years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility, preferably in the food and beverage industry., • Experience with technical areas such as electrical, mechanical, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, and HVAC., • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is preferred., • Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and take corrective action independently., • Ability to evaluate, repair, and operate production equipment, including troubleshooting, changing, maintaining, and repairing warehouse equipment., • Welding and hand and power tool skills required., • Proficiency in basic arithmetic, reading directions, computer use, and accurate data entry., • Skilled operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts.Why Work Here? Work Environment Work the 2nd shift from 3pm-11pm in a standard production environment with exposure to noise, humidity, and temperature changes, particularly if maintenance is required outdoors. The facility may contain peanuts and tree nuts. Physical demands include operating machinery, using hand and power tools, and handling materials safely. Be prepared to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. Vision requirements include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color distinction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
