Position Overview: A. Duie Pyle’s Sales Development Program is an accelerated training program designed to prepare and develop future business development representatives. SDP will take you on a three month progression where you will learn about our Operations and Sales teams while developing a strong understanding of the transportation industry and our direct competitors. Your career will begin at the closest Pyle terminal to your home. Here, you will learn about freight handling and our LTL, less-than-truckload, business. Over the course of the next three months, you will gain valuable hands on experience working various shifts on our dock and riding along in our trucks. To sell our services successfully, you have to first understand how they work. Additionally, you’ll spend time in our corporate office engaging with and learning from our senior leadership. Nearing the completion of the program, you’ll receive your assigned territory within the Pyle network. Following your successful graduation, you’ll start putting your new acquired skills to work! Job DescriptionJob purpose A Porter is a highly physical role. The purpose of the position is to clean the office and warehouse. In addition, a Porter may perform other tasks related to maintaining clean and safe work areas. Duties and responsibilities • Clean the office space following daily, weekly and monthly schedule of tasks., • Clean Bathrooms daily following sanitation log, 7 total bathrooms, • Remove all garbage from the office, kitchens and warehouse, • Walk the aisles in all three warehouses and pick up garbage, • Dust the eyewash stations and the hand sanitizer dispensers located throughout the warehouse, • Pick up all broken pallets and wood and properly dispose of them, • When working in an aisle, dust the aisle as well as cases, • Run the floor scrubber 5 days a week, turn the building over every two weeks, • Pick up and empty the garbage receptacles outside of the building, • Clean the warehouse break room, • Work with Manny to cleans up the re-coup area when needed, • Take initiative to accomplish open tasks; be proactive and seek additional work when available, • Safety: Complete safety training session and pass safety training test at time of hire and on an annual basis., • Safety: Act in compliance with safety practices and procedures throughout the warehouse. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are forty (30) or more hours per week, with assigned start and end times in the range of 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This position may occasionally require longer hours when workload or project deadlines require it.
