Job Description AMBULANCE DRIVER JOB DESCRIPTION / (EMR) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities • Drive ambulances safely and efficiently, • Help load and unload patients, • Provide first aid, such as bandaging or CPR, • Maintain the ambulance and ensure it's safe to operate, • Stock the ambulance with medical supplies, • Report accidents and emergencies to authorities, • Assist paramedics and emergency medical technicians, • Maintain patient records, including names, addresses, and travel times RESTRICTIONS: No employee is allowed to: • Engage in any activity contrary to company policy, • Smoke cigarettes while aboard Ambulance, • Eat, chew gum, or drink in vehicles or facilities while caring for or transporting clients., • Abuse clients in any way, physically or verbally, • Use profanity, argue with facility staff or engage in any fighting., • Loiter at facility QUALIFICATIONS: · Valid driver's license with a clean driving record · High school diploma or equivalent · CPR certification · Ambulance driver training · Basic knowledge of medical terminology and emergency procedures · Strong communication skills · Ability to remain calm under pressure EDUCATION: • Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, • Must obtain EMR certification prior to employment LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Ability to read, write, and interpret using basic English language and grammatical usage. Ability to understand and follow simple directions as related to job description. REASONING ABILITY: • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form., • Must be capable of demonstrating various decision-making skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear., • The employee frequently is required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle, feel, and reach with his or her hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl., • The employee must frequently push, pull, lift and/or move more than 150 pounds by his or her self and 250 pounds with assistance., • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: · May work indoors and outdoors · May be exposed to contaminants, sounds, and noise levels · May wear protective or safety attire
