SCHEDULE Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM Note: Schedule is flexible to ensure adequate program coverage. Adjustments may be made based on staffing needs, emergencies, or program demands. Additional Expectations • On-Call Responsibilities:, • Available after hours for urgent situations, staffing gaps, or critical incidents, • Provides guidance to overnight staff when needed, • Supervisory Duties:, • Direct oversight of evening and overnight staff, • Ensures compliance with program policies, safety protocols, and documentation requirements, • Safety Oversight:, • Responsible for monitoring facility security, resident behavior, and incident response during evening hours SUMMARY Family Service League is seeking a full-time Evening Supervisor for a homeless shelter in Lindenhurst, NY. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Client Advocate Department and evening function of the shelter. Responsibilities include management of incidents, crisis intervention, client assessments, and transportation as needed. $3,000 Sign-On Bonus! RESPONSIBILITIES • The Evening Supervisor will oversee staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and conducting supervision and performance appraisals., • Maintain accuracy of Daily Census with Front Desk., • Schedule and facilitate regular Client Advocate team meetings., • Provide regularly scheduled supervision with each Client Advocate., • Review, complete follow up, and submit Incident Reports to Compliance Supervisor., • Maintain precise and accurate documentation of Case Management services, including client files and entries into the program databases., • The Evening Supervisor will conduct Safety Check’s weekly., • Provides assessment, crisis intervention, individuals, • Complete new client intakes and explain shelter rules and regulations to clients., • The Evening Supervisor will maintain a caseload if needed., • Meet with clients a minimum of two times per week for face-to-face meetings., • Develop Independent Living Plan for assigned clients., • Complete Independent Living Plan bi-weekly., • Collaborate with the Program Director on client shelter obligations., • Work with clients in creating a budget to identify needs and obligations. Where applicable, incorporate upcoming shelter obligations., • Maintain and update resource database of social service organizations relevant to the needs of client., • The Evening Supervisor will foster inter-agency collaboration to assist in clients’ long-term stability., • Maintain up-to-date documentation regarding client services in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and client files., • Complete monthly reports in a timely manner. Submit documentation to DSS Housing Liaison., • Attend scheduled Case Management team meetings, individual supervision, and required trainings., • The Evening Supervisor will oversee compliance of rules, regulations, and policies of shelter., • Set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients; observe client confidentiality and HIPPA protocols., • Advocate for client needs., • Work collaboratively with members of a larger treatment or service coordination team, both within the agency and in the larger community., • Collaborate with Security to discuss and resolve client incidents., • Oversee Bus Token distribution., • Responsible for reading and understanding the Policy and Procedure Manual., • Required to read and respond to daily emails., • All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field., • LMSW preferred., • A minimum of 3 years related experience required., • Previous supervisory experience preferred., • Knowledge of homeless population and DSS policies and regulations preferred., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required., • Excellent organizational and time-management skills required., • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, required. HMIS is preferred., • Spanish language fluency preferred., • Valid, clean, New York State Driver’s License required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sitting and standing for extended periods of time, as well as moderate lifting. Must be able to go up and down stairs.
