Job Overview We are a rapidly growing commercial litigation firm looking to hire an Associate Attorney, admitted to NY (NJ a plus) with practical experience. We are a creditor's rights firm with a focus in commercial collections and judgment enforcement. Duties As an Associate, you're going to have very real and very significant responsibilities, including: • Drafting/reviewing litigation documents including pleadings, motion papers and briefs, discovery demands/responses, correspondence with adversaries and the courts, • Conducting legal research, • Communications (written and verbal) with the courts, adversaries and others, • Making court appearances for conferences and motions (virtual and in-person), • Taking/defending depositions, • Negotiating settlements, • Serving as a resource to the firm's paralegals by reviewing drafts and answering questions. Requirements • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, • Admission to the New York State bar, • Proven experience in commercial litigation, • Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to write clear and persuasive documents., • Have the desire and qualities of a leader, • Excellent research skills with proficiency in using legal research databases like LexisNexis., • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities., • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal., • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
