OVERVIEW: Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in the US providing a wide range of Energy-related products and services to its customers, seeks an accomplished Sr. Paralegal. Position: Sr. Paralegal Location: New York, NY Duration: 6 months+ Contract with high possibility of extension!!! Pay Rate: $60.00/hr. - $70.00/hr (depending upon experience) Note: • Hybrid role, • WORK SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (EST) JOB SUMMARY: This role supports a legal team of approximately 7–10 members and focuses on litigation support and discovery response activities. The Sr. Paralegal will assist attorneys with active litigation matters by preparing pleadings, drafting and responding to discovery demands, managing legal documentation, and supporting case management activities. This role requires strong experience in New York insurance defense litigation, excellent drafting skills, and familiarity with New York court procedures and deadlines. • Education: Bachelor’s degree required., • Strong experience drafting discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, and affirmations., • Demonstrated experience in New York Insurance Defense Litigation and strong knowledge of New York practice., • Experience drafting good-faith letters., • Court experience, including filings and procedural compliance., • Experience in handling reporting and PSE., • Proficiency with Adobe for document editing, preparation, and redactions., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications., • Experience preparing and processing legal documents., • Hands-on experience with e-filing systems, including PACER, NYSCEF, and other state or federal agencies., • Preferred: Experience with Case Works Program or similar case management systems (training available if not previously exposed). RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist attorneys in the preparation and support of pending litigation matters., • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, affirmations, and responses to discovery demands., • Manage extensive document production and coordinate timely and efficient information preparation., • Maintain case files and litigation matter records., • Coordinate with and advise management on document production for discovery requests., • Review, analyze, and catalog documents and exhibits., • Perform legal research and cite-check briefs., • Prepare required legal documents and issue daily and weekly reports., • Monitor case deadlines and manage calendaring in accordance with CPLR and other applicable court rules., • Initiate and maintain legal holds using designated software tools., • Maintain electronic document repositories and document review platforms., • Handle e-filing of documents via PACER, NYSCEF, and other state or federal systems., • Perform additional litigation and legal support tasks as assigned.
