Job Description JOB DEFINITION: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to provide Psychiatric Assessments and medication management to children and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis within a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week to Crisis Stabilization Center. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in advanced practice nursing from an accredited program, with a New York State license and registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Psychiatry, and current DEA registration. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Substantial clinical experience with the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of mental disorders, in outpatient and/or inpatient settings. Experience will include management of seriously and persistently ill clients as well as those with psychiatric and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Familiarity with current DSM criteria. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides psychiatric and substance abuse care and medication to appropriate clients applying standards of care consistent with good medical judgment and current practice in the psychiatric community. This can include the administration of intramuscular medication when appropriate., • Provides psychiatric and substance abuse examination for the purpose of diagnostic evaluation, determination of treatment needs and prognostic factors. Hourly Pay: $20 per hour General Description: The position of Patient Services Clerk is a full-time appointment requiring a minimum of 35 hours of service per week to the College.
