Job Description Summary: The Criminal Court program provides a safe reception center and various services to assist survivors and victims of crime navigate through the Criminal Court. The program provides counseling, crisis intervention, case management services, advocacy, information and referrals and practical assistance to survivors and victims of crime with an overall goal of promoting survivor safety and reducing the impact of victimization. The Coordinator is responsible for providing holistic support services to victims of all crimes. This included counseling and crisis intervention to assess the needs of victims and to help with the development of safety plans to address immediate risks and concerns. This plan may include the provision of in-person or telephone counseling; emergency assistance such as money for transportation; assistance with an Office of Victim Services (OVS) application; providing information and referrals, and follow-up services; and providing assistance with obtaining an order of protection, restitution, and other criminal justice remedies. The Coordinator will advocate on the client’s behalf with public entitlement programs, schools, employers, civil legal attorneys, and other community-based organizations, and coordinate and collaborate with the OVS Vocational Rehabilitation Unit and the New York Civil Legal Network to ensure that victims are receiving a comprehensive response. The Coordinator will also assist clients with applying for a New York City Housing Authority emergency housing transfer as an intimidated victim or victim of domestic violence; provide assistance, information and support to clients around securing safe, appropriate housing through available subsidies; or access other available resources in the City that suit the individual’s needs to help maintain housing stability in their current residence. Additionally, the Coordinator will assist clients with direct services such as registering for Victim Information Notification Everyday (VINE) and SAVIN (Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification Network); making referrals for shelter stay; assisting with relocation; and referring for lock replacement. Job Description Summary: Safe Horizon manages a 5-year grant by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to raise the standard of care for traumatized children in New York City. REACH focuses on school-aged children and older through the implementation of anti-oppressive, age-appropriate trauma interventions. The Director SAMHSA Child Trauma Initiatives is responsible for integrating the staff development and direct service components of REACH to facilitate their implementation in Safe Horizon’s child trauma cluster which includes our Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC), Child Advocacy Centers (CACs), Child Trauma Response Team (CTRT), and Safe Way Forward (SWF) program. Legacy Giving Administration & Operations * Possess knowledge of estate planning tools, prepare tailored legacy gift proposals in response to inquiries and works with donors and donor representatives to facilitate legacy gifts to Lambda Legal. * Create and implement systems for timely completion and execution of estate paperwork, acknowledgement of new Guardian Society members, as well as manage Lambda Legal's Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) program. * Process, manage and acknowledge gifts from estates and trusts, oversee the status of all open estates, trusts, and CGAs, and communicate regularly with donors, trustees, executors and, if needed, pro bono counsel to ensure timely resolution of concerns and receipt of gifts. * Maintain accurate and timely records in Raiser’s Edge, including updating donor statuses and documenting key information to ensure appropriate outreach, like issuing condolences and other intentional engagements. * Assess legacy giving program operations to identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and implement effective solutions that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness. Legacy Giving Marketing & Outreach * In collaboration with the Marketing team, develop and refine marketing materials for legacy giving, including producing legacy giving information for outreach initiatives, campaigns, and/or other publications as needed. * Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to create donor profiles for publications and lead targeted legacy giving mailing campaigns throughout the year. * Organize occasional educational seminars for donors and prospects regarding life and financial planning, tax issues, aging information, and other topics of interest. * Produce legacy giving and life-planning educational materials for digital, video, and print Engagement & Coordination with Legacy Giving Council (LGC) * Support the Senior Director of Legacy Giving in coordinating and executing key activities of the Legacy Giving Council (LGC), ensuring strong engagement and smooth operations. * Responsible for communicating with the LGC and ensures that members are well-informed regarding Lambda Legal's work. * Assist in recruitment of new LGC members locally; and ensure that LGC members are engaged and well-supported in Lambda Legal's work. Staff assists eligible persons in filling out their applications and provides referrals to other food and nutritional resources.
