The Direct Support Professional role is a Non-Exempt position requiring ability in implementing training programs and maintaining a safe environment for adults with intellectual /developmental disabilities (I/DD) for the purpose of increasing the extent to which they are independent, integrated members of the community. All tasks must be implemented in a humane and competent manner. The Direct Support Professional role is not specific to one location, building, classroom, day habilitation or group home.
