The role: We are hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician with strong experience in conveyor systems, industrial controls, and food packaging equipment. This is a hands-on technician role within our maintenance team. While the title remains Industrial Maintenance Technician, this position will serve as a technical backbone of the operation, owning complex troubleshooting, supporting automation systems, and driving equipment uptime across conveyors, packaging equipment, and facility systems. The primary focus is conveyor and controls troubleshooting, with additional responsibility for packaging machinery and general facility maintenance. As we grow our fulfillment and automation footprint, conveyor reliability, packaging performance, and controls competency are critical to our operation. This role plays a key part in reducing downtime, improving system stability, and strengthening our overall maintenance capability. You won't just be fixing equipment. You'll be helping build a more reliable and scalable operation. This is a full-time position with scheduled hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The schedule may be subject to change based on organizational and operational needs. How you'll make an impact: Conveyor & Material Handling Equipment (MHE) • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems, including belts, rollers, pulleys, gearboxes, drives, and motors, • Troubleshoot electrical components such as photoeyes, proximity sensors, motor starters, contactors, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), • Diagnose system-level material flow issues to minimize downtime and prevent recurring failures, • Troubleshoot equipment faults using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (programming not required, but logic comprehension expected), • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and control drawings, • Support troubleshooting of motor controls, safety circuits, relays, and distributed input/output systems, • Maintain and troubleshoot food packaging equipment, including pre-formed baggers, vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) machines, and pouch sealers, • Diagnose issues related to sealing systems, film tracking, forming tubes, temperature control, and pneumatic components, • Support warehouse automation systems, including robotics and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), • Assist with installation, commissioning, and ongoing reliability improvements, • Perform maintenance on pumps, motors, and mechanical drive systems, • Support basic Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, • Complete general facility repairs as needed (mechanical, minor electrical, structural), • Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety requirements, • Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain safe work practices, • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, • 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a distribution, fulfillment, or food manufacturing environment, • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability, • Deep hands-on experience with conveyor systems and material handling equipment, • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and industrial control systems, • Experience reading electrical schematics and ladder logic, • Experience maintaining food packaging equipment (VFFS, pre-formed baggers, pouch sealers), • Familiarity with robotics, automation systems, or Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) preferred, • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), motors, pumps, and pneumatic systems, • Ability to independently diagnose complex equipment failures, • A high-growth and rewarding role in a foundationally strong and rapidly evolving business, • Hourly Pay Range: $25 - $35/hour based on experience, • Excellent benefits including a 401K Match, • Paid Maternity, Adoption and Paternity leave, • And all the Nuts.com snacks your heart desires + a 40% employee discount EEO STATEMENT Nuts.com is an equal opportunity employer.
