Job Description Position Overview Title: Certified Tumor Registrar Location: Hicksville, NY, 11801 Duration: 9 Weeks Contracts With High Chances of Extension Schedule: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, M-F Travel Pay Range: $1800 - $2000/wk approx Local Pay Range: $40 - $45/hr W2 Summary The Tumor Registrar is responsible for collecting, abstracting, maintaining, and reporting accurate cancer data for all patients diagnosed and/or treated within the institution, in compliance with American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, New York State Department of Health Cancer Registry, and Hospital Cancer Committee standards. Responsibilities • Identifies reportable cancer cases using pathology, radiology, oncology, and disease index sources., • Abstracts, codes, and enters cancer data according to ACoS/CoC, NYS DOH, AJCC, SEER, and ICD-O guidelines., • Maintains accurate and complete cancer registry records and performs quality checks., • Prepares and submits required reports and supports cancer program accreditation activities., • Uses registry software, including METRIQ, and maintains patient confidentiality. Education & Experience • High school diploma or equivalent with a strong biological science background., • Two or more years of cancer registry experience preferred., • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and cancer registry standards. Certifications • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) required., • LPN, RN, RHIT, or RHIA preferred. Working Conditions • Prolonged sitting or standing; ability to lift 20–30 lbs., • Requires strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
