Job DescriptionPride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in Lake Success, NY (11042). This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation! Specific Duties: • Taking vital signs accurately, • Phlebotomy and specimen collection, • Performing EKGs, • Administering/assisting with vaccinations and injections, • Performing basic point-of-care testing (urinalysis, glucose, rapid tests, etc.), • Patient intake and rooming, • Medication reconciliation and documenting medical histories, • Using an EMR/EHR, especially Epic, • Maintaining infection control and following HIPAA/safety procedures, • Preparing exam rooms and maintaining supplies, • Compassionate and empatheticRequirements:, • Minimum of 1 year of preferred experience, • High school graduate or GED equivalent, • Current BLS certification (through an approved American Heart Association Training Centre or the, • Proven good communication and customer service skills, • Experience with phlebotomy, EKGs, POCT, urinalysis, and other back-office procedures.What skills/attributes are nice to have, and will set a candidate apart?, • Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skills, • Knowledge of medical terminology required, • The ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies is required, • Good communication and customer service skills required, • Preferred Education.
