About NowThis \n NowThis is redefining media for a new generation, leading the charge as a digital-first brand that resonates with over 98 million people globally each month. NowThis…is GenZTV. We’re transforming scrolling to tuning in, by reinventing destination viewing through bingeable, social-first content that meets our audiences on the platforms where they live. \n \n About The Role \n We’re hiring a Supervising Producer to run the day-to-day video operation of NowThis Impact, the #1 progressive news brand online. Our social-first content reaches millions of people with coverage of politics, policies, and social issues in the United States. \n NowThis Impact goes beyond the headline. We get into the weeds of politics, policy, and power to make clear how they show up in people’s lives. This person will decide what deserves our attention each day and help shape the smartest, most compelling way to cover it. \n You’ll manage and develop members of the editorial team, lead daily coverage and workflows, and work closely with editorial leadership to put the account’s broader strategy into practice. You should be able to sharpen a text-on-screen, help a producer tighten a script, and make the call when a big story breaks. \n This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who cares deeply about social issues, understands social platforms, and knows how to make complex, consequential stories clear and compelling for a social audience. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n Editorial Leadership & Management \n\n • Run the NowThis Impact team’s day-to-day editorial video operation and turn the account’s priorities into a clear coverage plan.\n, • Decide which stories are worth covering, how we should frame them, which format makes sense, and where the team should spend its time.\n, • Supervise and mentor producers, associate producers, and freelancers, providing regular feedback, coaching, and professional development.\n, • Own the workflow from pitch through publishing, balancing breaking stories, planned coverage, original ideas, and partner commitments.\n, • Oversee and review scripts and videos, providing clear feedback that strengthens both the work and the producers creating it.\n, • Hold a high bar for accuracy, sourcing, fact-checking, editorial judgment, and storytelling, and recognize when potential legal or brand-safety issues need to be escalated.\n, • Make fast editorial calls when stories break and know when to bring in editorial leadership.\n, • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.\n\n \n Strategy & Audience \n\n • Partner with editorial leadership to turn the account’s longer-term strategy into actionable editorial priorities.\n, • Understand what makes political and social-issues content connect on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms, and use analytics to inform what we do next.\n, • Push the team to test new formats and approaches while protecting the rigor and depth that make NowThis Impact distinct.\n\n \n Partnerships & Stakeholder Collaboration \n\n • Help the editorial leadership manage ongoing relationships with external partners and stakeholders.\n, • Be the editorial point person for select partnerships, with a clear handle on priorities, timelines, deliverables, and feedback.\n, • Lead the editorial execution of sponsored content, ensuring deliverables meet project briefs while maintaining NowThis Impact’s voice, standards, and audience-first point of view.\n, • Work across editorial, partnerships, audience development, and other internal teams to keep projects aligned and on schedule.\n\n \n What Success Looks Like \n\n • The NowThis Impact team operates smoothly day-to-day, with clear priorities, ownership, and accountability.\n, • Our coverage reflects strong editorial judgment and a distinct point of view, helping audiences understand both what is happening and why it matters.\n, • Producers grow as writers, editors, decision-makers, and storytellers through your coaching and feedback.\n, • Partners and internal stakeholders trust you to communicate clearly and follow through.\n, • You operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy, bringing thoughtful recommendations and solutions to editorial leadership while knowing when to escalate.\n\n \n Qualifications \n\n • 7+ years of experience in digital media, journalism, social video, or a similar editorial environment, including people-management experience.\n, • Strong editorial judgment and storytelling skills, with experience making decisions in a fast-moving news environment.\n, • Experience managing and developing producers, writers, or other editorial staff.\n, • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex topics clear, engaging, and accessible.\n, • Deep understanding of social-first storytelling and how audiences behave on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.\n, • Knowledge of progressive politics, policy, and social issues.\n, • Strong communication, organizational, and project-management skills, with experience overseeing multiple projects from concept through publication.\n, • Experience managing partnerships and stakeholder relationships.\n, • Interest in and working knowledge of how AI and emerging technologies can improve workflows, increase efficiency, and scale editorial output while maintaining quality and editorial standards\n, • Strong understanding of sourcing, fact-checking, editorial standards, and when potential legal or brand-safety concerns require escalation.\n\n \n Compensation & Benefits \n The annual base salary for this position ranges from $105,00 to $115,000. An employee's position within this range will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. \n \n Benefits \n\n • Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance\n, • Provided and supplemental disability and life insurances\n, • Unlimited PTO, parental leave, paid family leave\n, • Paid company holidays, with an inclusive approach to diverse cultural and religious observances.\n, • Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan\n, • A range of additional voluntary programs, including spending accounts, work-related reimbursements, travel/accident insurance, and more\n\n \n Our Commitment to an Inclusive Workplace \n NowThis is an equal opportunity employer, deeply committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws. We actively work to prevent subtle forms of inappropriate behavior, such as microaggressions, and believe that barriers to success, whether blatant or hidden, have no place at NowThis.
