Job Description At Ferraro Foods, we do more than distribute products. We are looking for a Director of Operations to lead distribution center operations, drive continuous improvement, and build high-performing teams across warehouse, transportation, inventory control, and maintenance functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for developing operational strategy, driving profitability, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting the long-term growth of the business. What You'll Bring to the Table • Lead all distribution center operations, including warehouse, transportation, inventory control, and maintenance functions, • Drive operational excellence by implementing processes that improve efficiency, service levels, safety, and profitability, • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company objectives and long-term growth initiatives, • Lead, mentor, and develop management teams while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, and other departments to ensure alignment and operational success, • Manage operational performance through planning, budgeting, and oversight of key performance metrics, • Drive inventory accuracy, loss prevention initiatives, and cost-control measures to support profitable operations, • Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards, • Oversee facility safety, security, maintenance, and ergonomic programs to create a safe working environment, • Support workforce planning, employee development, performance management, and corrective action processes, • Identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and best-practice implementation, • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as needed to support business objectives The Ingredients for Success • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field and/or equivalent operational leadership experience, • 5+ years of leadership experience within warehouse, distribution, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, • Strong experience managing multiple operational functions within a distribution environment, • Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and drive organizational performance, • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operational budgets and profitability metrics, • Experience leading warehouse, transportation, and inventory control functions simultaneously, • Experience managing operational KPIs including productivity, service levels, inventory accuracy, safety, and cost control, • Foodservice distribution, wholesale distribution, grocery distribution, or high-volume distribution center experience strongly preferred, • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and Microsoft Office applications, • Ability to work in warehouse and distribution environments, including frequent walking, standing, lifting, and bending, • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks Preferred Ingredients • MBA preferred, • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within foodservice distribution, wholesale distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations, • Experience leading large-scale distribution center operations, • Valid driver's license Why You'll Love Working Here • Lead a critical function that directly impacts company performance and customer satisfaction, • High-visibility leadership role with direct influence on operational strategy, • Opportunity to drive meaningful change and continuous improvement initiatives, • Work alongside experienced leaders in a growing organization, • Be part of a company that supports customers across the food industry The Details • Schedule: Mon – Fri | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, • Work Location: Onsite, • Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 annually, salary is commensurate with experience., • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid holidays, and additional voluntary benefit offerings.
