ESG & Communication Coordinator Velto Renewables (Velto), a subsidiary of La Caisse (Caisse de Dépôt et Placement de Québec), is looking for a ESG & Communication Coordinator to join its team in Madrid, Spain, as part of the Legal & Compliance team and working with all areas of the company. Velto Renewables is a renewable energy independent power producer with a long-term asset ownership strategy. Established in 2020 and backed by the global investment group La Caisse, Velto is committed to contributing to the decarbonisation of the global economy and the European energy transition by investing in and developing an international and multi-technology portfolio of renewable energy projects. The company holds 585 MW of operational and under-construction solar PV and wind assets in Spain and France, manages a 25% stake in the 630 MW London Array offshore wind farm in the UK, is developing over 1 GW of projects across Iberia, and pursues an international growth strategy that establishes a local presence in the countries and regions where it operates. The ESG & Communication Coordinator will play a key role in shaping, implementing, and communicating Velto’s sustainability and regulatory strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer this position will lead the company’s ESG initiatives with a strong emphasis on internal and external communication, ensuring that our sustainability narrative is clearly articulated and embedded across all departments. The ESG & Communication Coordinator will work closely with HR, Finance, Legal, Development, Construction, Operations, and Asset Management teams to advance our ESG agenda and strengthen our governance framework within the group structure. Responsibilities ESG Strategy & Governance: • Develop and implement the company’s sustainability strategy, focusing on decarbonization, environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and robust governance practices., • Design and operationalize ESG models and processes, integrating them into the company’s daily operations and long-term planning., • Strengthen group-level governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with best practices and facilitating coordinated ESG oversight across related entities., • Select, manage, and coordinate external ESG consultants and service providers across various workstreams (e.g., CSRD, TCFD, LCA) for periodic reporting activities as well as extraordinary transactions such as M&A and refis., • Coordinate internal compliance activities related to ethics, business continuity, finance, etc., • Lead the preparation of annual and periodic reporting including gap analysis, data collection systems, and the development of recurrent reporting tools., • Monitor and analyze ESG metrics, leveraging data to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement., • Develop and implement report templates, dashboards, and analytical tools to communicate ESG performance effectively. Communication & Engagement: • Internally: Develop and execute internal communication plans to educate, engage, and align all departments on ESG goals, progress, and initiatives. Foster a strong culture of sustainability., • Externally: Craft compelling ESG narratives for various stakeholders (investors, partners, communities, regulators). Prepare sustainability content for the company website, press releases, annual reports, and investor presentations., • Support the communication of ESG and community engagement activities across all project phases: development, construction, and operations., • Develop and implement a systematic overall communication strategy (not only ESG related) of the company with the support of other departments and external consultants. Regulatory Affairs & Support: • Coordinate the company’s regulatory affairs activities, monitoring European renewable energy regulations and their implications for the business., • Provide regulatory support and insights to various departments to ensure compliance and strategic advantage. Competencies • Solid knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks (TCFD, SDGs, etc.), and emerging EU regulations (CSRD). Understanding of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), carbon accounting, sustainable finance, and circular economy in the context of renewable energy., • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish., • Ability to translate complex ESG data into clear, persuasive, and actionable messages for diverse audiences., • Proven ability to work independently, proactively develop workstreams, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision. 3-5 years of relevant experience is required to ensure this level of autonomy., • Strong team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority., • Comfort with data management, analysis, and the ability to develop financial and analytical models. High proficiency in MS Office Suite., • Knowledge of the renewable energy sector and its specific ESG challenges and opportunities. Education and experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Law, Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related field., • Specific training or certification in ESG/CSRD/sustainability reporting is highly desirable., • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in an ESG, sustainability, corporate communications, or regulatory affairs role, preferably within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors., • Demonstrated experience in developing sustainability strategies and leading both internal and external communication initiatives., • Experience in managing external consultants and multi-stakeholder projects.
