A vacancy has arisen for an Airborne Electronic Hardware Designer within the A/C & Mission System Integration Rigs domain of Airbus Defence and Space Air Power Engineering in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the A/C & Mission System Integration Rigs domain, belonging to the Flight and Integration Test Centre of Competence, which is composed of around 100 employees located in Getafe, Manching and Bremen. We are looking for an experienced and motivated engineer with a passion for advanced digital systems and aerospace technologies. The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, in charge of the full life‑cycle of the Design and Build of Airborne Electronic products and solutions. Main Activities • Design and develop complex airborne electronic hardware solutions, • Define hardware requirements and ensure system‑level requirements allocation, • Perform component selection considering reliability, obsolescence, thermal, and environmental constraints, • Support hardware validation, integration, qualification and environmental testing campaigns, • Collaborate closely with firmware developers, systems designers and certification responsible authorities, • Management of supplier work packages for the design, manufacturing and validation activities during prototype and production phases, • Participate in technical reviews with internal customer teams (Design Offices, Chief Engineering and Program Offices) or external Certification/Qualification authorities (INTA, EASA), • Prepare technical documentation aligned with aerospace development and certification processes, • Ensure compliance with aerospace and airborne standards DO-254 and DO-160 Associated Competencies • Digital Electronic Hardware Detailed Design: demonstrated ability to master the design and/or perform analysis of digital electronic circuits including logic circuits in FPGA, PLD requirements capture, timing analysis, corner‑case analysis, power‑consumption estimation and environmental constraints., • Knowledge of digital instrumentation and verification techniques as well as latest digital design tools, • Ability to provide sufficient detailed data and information about system elements to enable implementation consistent with architectural entities as defined in models and views of the system architecture and in accordance with the allocated requirements., • Ability to verify the compliance of a detailed, PLD solution toward the baseline of validated requirements at aircraft equipment or system level. Required Competences & Skills • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, • 5+ years of experience in hardware design for embedded or airborne systems within aerospace, defense, industrial, or high‑reliability sectors, • Strong expertise in:, • Digital and analog electronics, • High‑speed design, • Signal and power integrity, • Embedded architectures, • EMI/EMC considerations, • Advanced experience with PCB design and review tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, or similar., • Experience with aerospace communication protocols and interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, ARINC or similar avionics interfaces), • Proven experience in hardware bring‑up, debugging, and validation, • Strong understanding of safety‑critical development environments, • Professional working proficiency in English Desired Competencies & Skills • Previous experience in aerospace, avionics, UAV, or defense programs, • Knowledge of certification processes and airborne compliance standards (DO-254, DO-160, MIL‑STD environments), • Experience with FPGA‑based systems and RF electronics, • Exposure to full product lifecycle development from concept to certification and production Benefits • Vacation days plus additional days‑off throughout the year., • Attractive salary., • Hybrid working model when possible, promoting work‑life balance., • Collective transport service subject to working calendar/home location., • Benefits such as life insurance, health insurance, employee stock options, retirement plan, or study grants., • On‑site facilities (free canteen, kindergarten, medical office)., • Possibility to collaborate in different social and corporate social responsibility initiatives., • Excellent upskilling opportunities and great development prospects in a multicultural environment., • Option to access special rates in products & benefits.
