Job ID: 10406500 | Amazon Data Services Spain, S.L. As a Data Center Construction Manager you will be part of a creative, efficient team tasked with building and supporting Amazon data centers. You will oversee all disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, controls, and commissioning. You will administer construction and lease contracts for a specific data center site and ensure full compliance. Our Data Center Construction team owns and drives the construction life cycle from constructability, proposal development, bid analysis, award, to managing onsite construction work. You will dive deep into construction management, inspire and think big about the construction program, and support a team delivering efficient electrical and mechanical systems. • Construction project management and oversight of construction-related activities for new builds or capital projects at a specific data centre site, including scope, timeline, and budget., • Direct interface with general contractors through bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list phases., • Work with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high-quality project turn-overs., • Lead negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals., • Create construction project scope and request for proposals., • Handle capital requests/financial analysis of construction work including change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing., • Manage construction projects aimed at increasing the resiliency of data centres., • Review electrical and mechanical designs associated with new data centre construction or optimization of existing data centres., • Review construction submittals., • Conduct construction project quality control, including creation of commissioning plan and support of the commissioning process., • Record and report key construction metrics., • Lead within the group and support internal and external teams., • Position based on a data centre construction site in Zaragoza/Spain., • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, • Experience in the construction of data centre delivery (design, commissioning and construction), mission critical facilities, or equivalent industrial/manufacturing facility builds., • Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
