Global Head of Security Detection and Response As Global Head of Security Detection & Response (SDR), you will lead one of the most critical cybersecurity capabilities within ING's Global CISO organization. Your role and work environment The TeamSecurity Detection & Response (SDR) is a key delivery tribe within Global CISO, responsible for safeguarding ING against an ever-evolving cyber threat landscape. The team brings together expertise across Detection Monitoring & Models, Next-Gen AI-Driven Detection, and the Security Operations Center (SOC), creating a comprehensive end-to-end capability for threat identification, analysis, and response. Through advanced monitoring, threat intelligence, and cutting‑edge detection technologies, the team continuously works to identify anomalies and malicious activity across the enterprise. SDR's mission is to detect and neutralize threats as early as possible, enabling secure, resilient, and trusted banking services for millions of customers worldwide.This role functionally reports to the Deputy Global CISO within Global CISO organization. Your key responsibilities Translate Global Cyber Security strategy into an SDR strategy and roadmap, driving execution, transformation, and transparent progress reporting. Ensure the effectiveness, resilience, and continuous evolution of SDR services, processes, and capabilities to address emerging threats, risks, regulatory requirements, and technology trends. Embed security into ING's business and technology strategy, enabling secure innovation and sustainable growth. Lead a global organization of Product Owners, Process Managers, and Service Managers, fostering a high-performing culture through talent development, coaching, and leadership excellence. Act as Chief Product Owner for global SDR services, driving service adoption, standardization, and value realization across ING. Foster an agile and collaborative operating model, promoting cross-functional alignment, innovation, and continuous improvement across tribes, squads, and chapters. Manage strategic partners and third-party providers, ensuring strong performance, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and delivery of measurable business value. Own the SDR portfolio, budget, and investment priorities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to reduce cyber risk and maximize value delivery. Drive measurable risk reduction by defining strategic objectives, key performance indicators, and outcomes aligned with ING's risk appetite, security priorities, and operational resilience objectives. What are we looking for? Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 10-15 years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, information security, fraud management, or related disciplines, ideally gained within large, complex organizations and/or top-tier consulting environments. Recognized subject matter expertise in cybersecurity, supported by professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent. Additional certifications (e.G., CISA or domain-specific security certifications) are considered an advantage. Proven experience establishing, transforming, and operating security services and capabilities, including security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, crisis management, threat intelligence, and security operations. Strong understanding of security data analytics, detection engineering, AI/ML-driven security use cases, and emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends. Demonstrated success in defining strategic roadmaps and leading large-scale transformation initiatives, delivering measurable business and risk reduction outcomes. Strong financial and operational management skills, including portfolio management, budgeting, investment prioritization, and value realization. Good understanding of applicable cybersecurity laws, regulations, risk management frameworks, and regulatory expectations within a regulated industry.
