Overview: The Air to Air Refueling Systems organization conceives, develops, certifies and supports solutions for air‑to‑air refueling capabilities across the product lifecycle. This role requires a mechatronics system engineer skilled in mechanical engineering, actuation systems, and control systems, focusing on safety, quality and performance according to Airbus systems engineering standards. Responsibilities • Develop boom actuation and control systems, including electromechanical and hydraulic actuators., • Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals: design in CATIA, stress, fatigue, mechanisms., • Handle flight control systems installation: electrical and mechanical rigging, electrical wiring systems design., • Specify, supervise, qualify and validate flight control subsystems and equipment such as computers, actuators, motors, sensors (APQP, etc.)., • Develop control electronics and power electronics for flight control systems., • Plan and execute integration testing rigs: bench specifications, testing specifications, validation., • Perform safety analysis from architecture validation to PSSA, equipment FMEA, and system SSA., • Analyze test data and apply data science, machine learning, computer vision and AI to systems development., • Engage in the entire product lifecycle: concept design, specification, detailed design follow‑up, aircraft installation, supplier monitoring, technical product acquisition, testing, certification., • Conduct systems engineering activities and maintain a global product lifecycle approach., • Collaborate with internal teams: Physical Design and Structure, Procurement, Testing, Manufacturing, Services and AAR organization., • Support customer program lifecycle and industrialization of AAR systems. Qualifications • Leadership skills: business focus, team focus, integrity, proactive, autonomous, communication., • Background in aeronautical, industrial/mechanical engineering or electronic engineering (or similar)., • 7+ years experience in development, installation and certification of aircraft control systems (flight controls, landing gear, etc.)., • Expertise in control/actuation technologies and architectures for safety‑critical systems., • Experience with avionics/control computer development: power and control electronics, discrete, analog, sensor interfaces (A429, CAN, 1553, ETH, etc.), functional and environmental qualification, EMI/EMC., • Strong mechatronics knowledge: microelectronics, power control electronics, motors, actuators, mechanisms, sensors, control design, hydraulics, pneumatics., • Experience in system testing environments: specification/design, execution, exploitation of test means (control computer bench, integration, environmental testing, SEAS, National Instruments)., • Desirable: simulation and modelling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink for physical and control modelling, automatic code generation, testing., • Desirable: control computer SW functionality design and specification., • Desirable: airworthiness and certification experience, interaction with structure/loads, hand‑ling qualities., • Desirable: knowledge of Airbus DS system development and certification directives, configuration control and tools (SPRINT), mechanical drawings and wiring diagram databases., • Desirable: RAMS hands‑on experience from equipment/system standpoint., • Digital competence for high‑volume data processing., • Tools: DOORS, MATLAB (including Simulink), programming skills, test systems., • Advanced mastering of English language (written, conversation).
