Role Overview The Senior Project Manager (SPMO) plays a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of high-impact strategic and transformation programs across the organisation. This role focuses on individual accountability for large, complex initiatives that align with enterprise priorities, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable business value. Operating within the Strategic Program Management Office (SPMO), the Senior Project Manager partners closely with business leaders, technical teams, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution, risk mitigation, and organisational alignment. Reporting Structure Reports to: Head of SPMO Key Responsibilities • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex, strategic programs that drive business transformation and operational excellence., • Define and manage project scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals., • Serve as the primary point of accountability for assigned initiatives, providing clear governance, documentation, and stakeholder engagement., • Anticipate and manage program risks, interdependencies, and change impacts across business units., • Drive disciplined project planning, execution, and monitoring in line with SPMO methodologies and governance frameworks., • Collaborate with senior leadership to validate business cases, establish success metrics, and ensure benefits realization., • Provide executive-level reporting and insight into progress, risks, and strategic implications., • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective alignment and communication., • Promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across the portfolio. Skills & Experience Required Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)., • 7–10 years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs or projects., • Proven track record in delivering transformation, operational improvement, or strategic change initiatives., • Experience operating in matrixed, multicultural, and dynamic business environments., • Strong understanding of PMO governance and portfolio management principles. Core Competencies • Strategic and results-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to translate vision into actionable plans., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions., • Advanced stakeholder engagement and influence skills, including executive communication., • Expertise in project planning, risk management, and benefits realization., • High degree of accountability, ownership, and decision-making autonomy., • Strong understanding of change management and organizational dynamics., • Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and competing priorities., • Demonstrated capability in managing vendors, consultants, and cross-functional teams. Technical Skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint., • Experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)., • Familiarity with process improvement and workflow mapping tools (e.g., Visio)., • Understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies., • Knowledge of portfolio tracking and governance tools within PMO environments.
