Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on professional with a strong background in biochemical engineering, biotechnology, or industrial chemistry. The ideal candidate will have +6 years of demonstrated experience scaling up enzymatic or microbial bioreactors to industrial scale, demonstrating a deep understanding of enzymatic reaction kinetics, process optimization, and reactor engineering. This role will focus on multiple types of proprietary reactors for different enzymatic hydrolysis processes for plastics (PET, PP, PS, PE, ABS, PU). Key Responsibilities Lead scale-up of enzymatic bioreactors from (+150 L) to full-scale (1,000+ L / 1 ton capacity) production. Continuous process. Evaluate enzyme mix performance under industrial process conditions, including temperature, pH, and substrate variability. Design and optimize continuous enzymatic reaction modes for improved yield and stability. Conduct enzyme kinetics and conversion studies at pre-industrial scale to guide process parameters. Collaborate with engineering teams to adapt biochemical requirements to reactor design and material constraints. Validate enzyme compatibility with process materials, solvents, and additives. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and scale-up protocols to ensure reproducibility and operational ease. Establish process control and data-logging strategies for consistent batch performance and quality assurance. Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure product traceability and compliance with industrial standards. Qualifications & Skills M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry. 6+ years of proven experience scaling bioprocesses from 100 L to 1 ton capacity or beyond. Strong practical experience with HPLC, GC-MS, and other analytical tools for enzymatic process validation. Demonstrated expertise in enzyme kinetics, process optimization, and reactor design. Familiarity with process modeling and scale-up principles (e.g., mass transfer, mixing, heat exchange). Excellent documentation and cross-functional communication skills. Experience in continuous enzymatic processing or green chemistry applications is highly desirable. Why Join Us You’ll join Entzimatiko, a dynamic, multidisciplinary team at the cutting edge of enzymatic innovation, where your work will directly impact the development of sustainable, high-performance industrial bioprocesses.
