We are looking for a Plant Quality Engineer / Project Quality Engineer to join our team in Valencia on a 6‑month project, working on serial production of aesthetic plastic parts for a leading Tier 1 supplier in the automotive sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of aesthetic plastic components, coordinating issue resolution with customers and suppliers, and implementing corrective actions to meet industry standards throughout the project duration. About the role • Project and plant quality management: Coordinating and solving quality and functional issues in plastic component projects, ensuring series production quality in the plant, monitoring scrap and rework, and leading daily quality meetings on the shopfloor together with Production, Maintenance and Process Engineering., • Customer and supplier interaction: Managing non-conformities, negotiating solutions with OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, and ensuring product compliance with automotive quality standards and customer-specific requirements., • Production monitoring: Analyzing capacity, tolerances and feasibility of plastic components, ensuring process robustness in injection molding and finishing operations for visible parts., • Corrective and preventive actions: Identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, Ishikawa, 5Why, etc.)., • Documentation handling: Managing RFQ, SCCAF, TGSS, cost-saving initiatives and all relevant quality documentation (control plans, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, quality standards)., • Continuous improvement: Ensuring high standards in product design, validation and launch phases, promoting continuous improvement in series production and quality performance indicators (scrap, PPM, customer claims, audits, etc.). Requirements • Degree in Engineering or a related field., • 3–5 years of experience in quality management in the automotive sector, preferably as Plant Quality Engineer or similar role in serial production environments in Tier 1 plants., • Knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and customer-specific requirements., • Experience with aesthetic plastic components and injection molding processes, including defectology and aesthetic criteria for visible vehicle parts., • Strong experience in handling non-conformities and issue resolution with OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers., • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies: 8D, Ishikawa, 5Why, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with decision-making ability and leadership in implementing corrective and preventive actions in plant environments., • Strong communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers and internal multidisciplinary teams., • High proficiency in English (spoken and written)., • Availability for travel when required by customers or suppliers.
