From a few hours to overnight support, our mission is to make respite care accessible, reliable, and supportive, so no carer feels alone.


Role Description
We’re looking for caring and reliable people to join us as Haven Buddies (Care Assistants / Support Workers / Companions). In this role, you’ll provide essential companionship and support to individuals and families.


Every day is different, but you may:

  • Provide companionship and conversation to reduce loneliness.
  • Help with light household tasks (meal preparation, tidying).
  • Support safe daily routines (reminders, wellbeing checks).
  • Accompany clients to appointments, activities, or walks in the community.
  • Offer reassurance and emotional support to clients and their carers.
    This role is flexible and can accommodate your lifestyle, offering opportunities for occasional, part-time, or full-time hours.

What you’ll need:

  • Compassion, patience, and reliability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to cover some short-notice requests.
  • Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check (we’ll support you if you don’t already have one).
  • Previous care or support experience is helpful but not essential – we provide full training.

Understanding of infection control and safe working practices. Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
