This historic market town which used to crown Saxon kings, is now looking to crown an RVN, to help lead the team and grow the practice even further, re-establishing its potential! Our Kingston practice situated in a beautiful period building is looking for an RVN to join and take the reins of this established GP site, complete with dental and digital x-ray. The practice itself has a huge consult room with large windows looking out to the garden (complete with a family of foxes), it also has a large separate colleague area, again with natural light flooding through, and a spacious separate office for any admin duties you need to complete away from the clinical areas. You will be working alongside a full-time sole charge vet, and an incredibly enthusiastic veterinary nursing assistant, who you will help support throughout their training. Kingston has a very bonded and respected client base, many of them have been returning since the 90's! Kingston is also supported by Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon, for more complex cases, or OOH care your patients may need. This 4-day week role (Wednesdays off) involves a 1:4 branch Saturday rotation, and 1:10 Saturdays at Stone Lion Hospital. You will be rota'd to up to 2 bank holidays per year in Stone Lion, and there are NO on-call requirements. • Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care., • Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required., • Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records., • Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care., • Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients., • Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment., • Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use., • Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with our suppliers to required levels as necessary., • Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training., • Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone., • Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor. The practice is just a 6-minute walk from Norbiton train station, and within a 50-minute journey you are in central London. You are also a 10-minute walk from the famous picturesque Richmond Park, and the River Thames. Kingston upon Thames really is a gem for anyone thinking about relocating. There is a room in the shared flat above the practice if accommodation whether it be short or long term is required.
