Legal Cashier \n\n • Location: Lancaster (Office-based initially, with hybrid working available following successful completion of probation)\n, • Job Type: Full-time - 35hrs per week\n, • Salary: Dependent on experience\n\n Reed Lancaster is delighted to be recruiting for a Legal Cashier on behalf of a well-established, law firm with a strong reputation across Lancashire and Cumbria. \n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier or an Accounts Assistant looking to move into the legal sector. The firm is seeking someone who wants to build a long-term career, with genuine progression opportunities available as part of its future succession plans. \n Joining a supportive and collaborative team, you'll benefit from ongoing training and development, while working within a people-first, employee-owned business where staff share directly in the firm's success. \n Day-to-Day of the Role: \n\n • Managing client and office account transactions in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules\n, • Processing receipts, payments, bank transfers, CHAPS and BACS transactions\n, • Posting financial transactions to client and office ledgers\n, • Performing bank reconciliations\n, • Monitoring client account balances and maintaining compliance\n, • Processing completion statements and property transaction payments\n, • Managing supplier invoices and office expenses\n, • Assisting with billing, credit control and purchase ledger activities\n, • Supporting month-end and year-end procedures\n, • Assisting with audits and regulatory compliance checks\n, • Maintaining accurate and confidential financial records\n, • Liaising with fee earners, clients, banks and suppliers\n\n Required Skills & Qualifications: \n\n • Experience as a Legal Cashier, Legal Accounts Assistant or within a legal finance environment preferred\n, • Alternatively, experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Administrator looking to develop a career within legal finance\n, • Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes\n, • Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules is advantageous but not essential\n, • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills\n, • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines\n, • Strong communication skills\n, • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Competitive salary dependent upon experience.\n, • Hybrid working available following successful completion of probation.\n, • Highly collaborative and supportive working environment.\n, • People-first culture where employees are genuinely invested in the success of the firm and each other.\n, • Structured training, mentoring, and career development opportunities.\n, • Additional annual leave awarded for long service\n\n If you're an experienced Legal Cashier or an Accounts professional looking for a new opportunity with a progressive and supportive firm, we'd love to hear from you. \n Apply today or contact Beth at Reed Lancaster for a confidential discussion.
