Job title:\nSoftware Development Lead \n Location: Warton – We offer a\nrange of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about\nthe options for this particular role \n Salary: £60,326+ depending on\nexperience What you’ll be\ndoing: • Lead and define software\ndevelopment activities in line with departmental priorities and\ntechnology roadmaps., • Coordinate collaboration\nacross multi-disciplinary teams, internal experts, and external\npartners to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.\n, • Champion\nbest-practice software engineering methods and promote adoption of\nrelevant industry standards., • Ensure robust\nengineering governance, working with Technical Authorities and\ndomain specialists in Ground Test, Flight Test, and Flight\nOperations., • Oversee project delivery to agreed\ntime, cost, and quality targets, managing risks and providing\nclear progress reporting to stakeholders.\n, • Prepare business cases and investment proposals to\nsupport software research and capability development initiatives.\n, • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies through\nTechnology Watch activities to inform future capability\nroadmaps., • Strong understanding of the\nSoftware Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and core software engineering\nprinciples, including\nSOLID design practices., • Proven experience developing\nsoftware in multiple high-level programming languages (e.g. C, C++,\nJava, Python)., • Proficiency in Model-Based\nSoftware Engineering (MBSE) and design tools such as Enterprise\nArchitect or Cameo., • Experience in leading and managing engineering teams, from\nsmall groups to larger multi-disciplinary teams.\n, • Knowledge of open systems architectures, such\nas the Pyramid Reference Architecture (PRA), FACE, ECOA, IMS, or\nDDS., • Experience with modern software-driven\narchitectures, including containerisation, microservices, and\nvirtual machines., • Ability to align software\narchitecture with broader system architecture, ensuring coherent\nend-to-end design integration., • Hands-on experience performing\nHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) integration and testing.\n The Systems Technology\n& Capability Delivery Team: \n Join the Systems Technology & Capability Delivery Team\nwithin FalconWorks, where we’re shaping the future of aerospace\ninnovation.
