Location: North West, Northern Ireland Employment Type: Full-Time Travel: Periodic international travel required We are seeking a Software Engineer with experience in industrial process automation to join our growing engineering team in North West, Northern Ireland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on complex automation projects, with periodic international travel to support on-site commissioning and software support activities. Role Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, commissioning, and supporting PLC-based automation systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable and efficient control solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain PLC software using Schneider PLCs and Machine Expert V1.2, • Integrate PLC systems with SCADA platforms and remote monitoring solutions, • Support system commissioning both on-site and remotely, • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software and control system issues, • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver complete automation solutions, • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for deployed systems, • Provide ongoing technical support to internal teams and clients Essential Requirements: • Proven experience programming Schneider PLCs using Machine Expert V1.2, • Strong understanding of PLC-based control systems and industrial automation principles, • Experience integrating PLCs with SCADA systems, • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for commissioning and support activities, • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills Education: • Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline, • Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications Desirable Skills & Experience: • Background in Electrical Engineering or relevant practical electrical experience, • Experience with remote monitoring systems and industrial networking, • Previous involvement in commissioning industrial machinery or process systems, • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts What We Offer: • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, • Full-time, permanent position, • Exposure to international projects and on-site commissioning work, • Supportive and collaborative engineering environment, • Opportunities for professional development and career growth To apply, please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience via LinkedIn or email -
