Chef Manager – School Catering\n\nLocation: Various Primary & Secondary Schools\nSalary: £25,000 – £37,500\nHours: Term time / Full-time depending on site\n\nLead a school kitchen delivering fresh, nutritious meals to students each day. You will manage the kitchen, cook quality food, lead a small team, and ensure food safety standards are met while keeping the kitchen organised, efficient and welcoming.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Plan and cook fresh, balanced meals for students and staff\n\n * \n\n Follow School Food Standards and allergy guidelines\n\n * \n\n Manage the daily running of the kitchen and meal service\n\n * \n\n Lead and support a small team of kitchen staff\n\n * \n\n Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness\n\n * \n\n Monitor food quality, portion control and waste\n\n * \n\n Manage stock ordering, deliveries and storage\n\n * \n\n Keep kitchen records such as temperature logs and cleaning schedules\n\n * \n\n Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained correctly\n\n * \n\n Work closely with school staff to deliver a smooth meal service\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n * \n\n Experience working as a Chef, Cook or Kitchen Manager\n\n * \n\n Experience in high-volume catering (schools, contract catering, care, etc.)\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations\n\n * \n\n Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willing to obtain)\n\n * \n\n Strong organisation and time management skills\n\n * \n\n Ability to lead and motivate a small kitchen team\n\nDesirable\n\n * \n\n Experience working in school catering\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of School Food Standards\n\n * \n\n Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification\n\n * \n\n Experience with stock control and kitchen budgets\n\nEvery application is personally reviewed.
