Post:Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator Pay: £25,812.48 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (with some evening and weekends required for training delivery across sites and services) Accountable to: Head of Quality and Risk Reportable to: Health, Safety and Environmental Lead Base: Newfield House, Vicarage Lane, Blackpool, FY4 4EW and will include visits across all sites for training and delivery Closing Date: 12th July 2026 Main duties of the job We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator to join our Quality and Risk team, supporting the delivery of a safe, compliant and sustainable workplace across all FCMS services. Youll play a key part in embedding our health and safety culture, advancing our environmental and sustainability goals, and keeping our work environment running smoothly and efficiently. The post requires the ability to link together a multitude of different elements within a dynamic and fast paced environment. This is a varied coordination role which will involve working autonomously with a mix of active practical elements, along with digital administrative duties, creative tasks, and oversight responsibilities. Support regular H&S audits, reviews, and the maintenance of the risk assessment index. Assist in incident reporting, investigation, and tracking of follow-up actions Ensure assigned actions and risk assessments are completed within agreed timescales and maintained to support audit and inspection readiness. Support identification of incident trends and contribute to preventative actions. Collate health and safety data and produce clear and engaging reports for key stakeholders Support health and safety campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives, including developing and presenting training and meetings. Environmental & Sustainability Support Support delivery of environmental and sustainability programmes. Gather and manage data related to energy use, waste, and other environmental KPIs Assist in maintaining compliance records and supporting reporting obligations (e.g., ESOS, SECR, ISO14001) Support organisational sustainability objectives, including Net Zero ambitions Promote environmentally responsible behaviours across workforce and work closely with our FCMS Green Champions. Fleet Management & Vehicle Compliance Provide day-to-day support for organisational fleet management, including vehicles, Webfleet systems, fuel cards, car checks and associated documentation Ensure all vehicle checks are completed, recorded and maintained in line with organisational requirements Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and compliance requirements for vehicles, whilst maintaining accurate fleet records, spreadsheets and tracking systems Facilities & Contractor Management Support and coordinate the management and oversight of contractors, ensuring appropriate documentation, compliance checks, and safe systems of work are in place (includes contractor access, inductions and permits) Support day-to-day facilities management enquiries across sites Carry out and coordinate routine site compliance checks for identified locations Identify and arrange repairs and maintenance works and escalate defects or repairs as required Maintain and monitor Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and arrange repairs as required Workplace Support Provide occasional and ad-hoc reception cover and carry out other workplace support as required This list of duties is not exhaustive, and subject to regular review. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Willing to work towards relevant qualifications required as part of the role Desirable Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) or equivalent experience A Health, Safety or Environmental related qualification (or similar) Experience Essential Experience working within an administrative or coordination role Experience of working in a fast-paced environment Experience and confidence in using digital systems and Microsoft Office, in line with our goal to be a paperless workplace.
