Your new companyYou'll be joining a respected and forward-looking housing provider responsible for maintaining over 35,000 homes across the Midlands. Their in-house Repairs & Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring customers feel safe, supported and proud of their homes.This opportunity sits within their South Patch, covering Leicestershire, Coventry, Hinckley and Northampton, supporting both occupied and empty (void) properties. Your new roleSalary: Up to £49,000 per annum + Company Vehicle & FuelHours: 39 per weekContract: PermanentAs an Electrician, you'll be carrying out a wide range of electrical repairs, installations and safety checks to ensure customers' homes meet the highest standards and comply with the latest IET Wiring Regulations.Your work will include:Repairs & Maintenance (Occupied and Void Homes) • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults in kitchens, bathrooms and general living areas., • Replacing accessories such as sockets, switches, extractor fans and lighting fittings., • Rewiring individual circuits or full-property rewires in empty homes., • Installing and maintaining smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms., • Upgrading consumer units/ distribution boards., • Electrical work associated with kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms refurbishments., • Fault-finding on circuits, appliances and property-wide electrical systems., • Carrying out EICRs and completing all associated certification., • Performing installation testing, minor works and periodic inspection reports. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you will be: • An experienced Electrician with a background in housing repairs or domestic electrical work., • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Systems or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2)., • Certified in Inspection & Testing (C&G 2391/2394/2395)., • Fully up to date with BS 7671 / 18th Edition requirements (C&G 2382)., • Confident working independently in occupied homes, dealing with customers professionally and respectfully., • Performance bonus up to £5,000 per year, • Out-of-hours payments averaging £4,000 per year, • Company van + fuel card, • Power tools, full uniform, PPE, mobile phone and iPad, • A wide range of retail discounts via the organisation's benefits portal, • Up to 8% pension contribution, • 25 days annual leave, rising to 30 days within five years, • Option to purchase an additional 5 days' leave per year, • Training, development and career progression opportunities Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
