We are currently recruiting for a talented Paralegal to join our first class, specialist Disease department, in Blackburn. The Paralegal will support fee earner(s) in their handling of client matters, ensuring a pro-active and high level of client care and compliance with the National Practice Standards. Responsibilities to include: File Management Under supervision manage client matters according to NPS and ensure a high level of client care. Provide legal and administrative support to fee earner(s) on their client matters. Finance Ensure financial aspects of matters including time recording, billing and debtor management are managed to enable achievement of personal fee budget and support fee earners in the achievement of theirs. About You: Knowledge and understanding of basic legal concepts learnt from legal education such as undergraduate law, LLM, LPC, GDL or ILEX study; or equivalent work experience; or successful completion of the Paralegal Apprenticeship scheme. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and relevant practice and business IT systems, particularly Mattersphere and Aderant. Excellent typing skills (minimum wpm 35) Relevant work experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to think logically and analytically. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work from various stakeholders. Commercially aware and highly motivated. Proactive; Good attention to detail; Excellent time management and organisational skills We are offering a salary of £21,000 - £24,000 Dependant Upon Experience

To manage a caseload efficiently and effectively. You will be maintaining an independent caseload from inception to settlement or issuing. Responsibilities will involve handling a varied case load of pre-litigation NIHL work. Some supervision may also be required, however you will be overseen by the departmental Solicitors. This role would suit an experienced Paralegal or Legal Executive who is looking to propel their career, however applications from varied experienced personnel is also encouraged as the firm offers training facilities to assist with career progression. Duties and Responsibilities Proactively working to settle claims on favourable terms for the client within M&S Law's operational policy and the relevant guidelines. Liaising with relevant parties and experts associated with the claim. Providing excellent customer service and ensuring cases are rotated and actioned within the guidelines whilst maintaining WIP. Liaising with the overall department about case strategy and progression. Previous experience in dealing with NIHL claims is essential, however all applications will be considered. They have an outstanding team of Solicitors who are renowned for their expertise in Personal Injury, Data Breach, Medical Negligence and Immagration. They also deal with very high quality Clinical and Medical Negligence personal injury cases and have grown steadily over the past few years. As a result of their success they are now looking for a Solicitor/Fee Earner with experience of working in a fast paced, cost driven environment. Responsibilities: Managing a caseload of litigated and pre-litigated Clinical Negligence files, both straightforward and complex Conduct relevant investigations in order to repudiate and/or conclude the claim. Undertaking Court Telephone Hearings Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems Correspondence and telephone calls Reviewing files Being part of the support for junior staff Personal Specification: Qualified Solicitor or high level experience in Fee Earning. 3+ years PQE in managing a medical/clinical negligence caseload Confident in litigating matters from start to Finish.
