Job Title: Building Management Systems (BMS) Engineer\nLocation: Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Blackpool or Glasgow (Whichever is closest – hybrid working (3 days/week on site)\nContract Duration: 31/3/27\nDaily Rate: £550/day (Umbrella – Maximum)\nIR35 Status: Inside IR35\n\nThe Role: \n\nAct as the organisation’s Subject Matter Expert for Building Management Systems, ensuring the property estate has complete, accurate, operational and compliant BMS documentation (plans, registers, drawings, surveys and risk matrices).\nLead collaboration with internal teams and specialist consultants to develop and implement BMS performance management systems and maintenance strategies.\nReview surveys and action plans; track and close out rectification works.\nLead site investigations, technical assessments and data capture to ensure compliant, safe and well-maintained assets throughout their lifecycle.\nProvide expert recommendations on repairs, improvements, maintenance and investment to deliver best value, innovation and compliance.\nAuthorise/sign-off delay requests for BMS maintenance and repairs.\nPerform audits, root-cause analysis and data reviews to drive continuous improvement and compliance.\nSupport acquisition and handover of new buildings, ensuring BMS functionality, compliance and accurate asset data.\nCollaborate with stakeholders and supply chain to promote best practice, innovation, value for money and full regulatory compliance.\nDeputise for Asset Intelligence team and work towards ISO 55000 standards.\nEssential Skills, Knowledge & Experience\n\nExperience of acting as subject matter expert for Building Management Systems.\nProvide an exceptional level of commitment and professionalism in delivering value enhancing BMS activities across the portfolio.\nExperience of working with outsourced teams (and specialist contractors) in delivering works associated with Building Management Systems\nExperience of working collaboratively with specialist consultants managing Building Management Systems delivery, assurance, and oversight functions.\nFully experienced and qualified in supporting delivery of a high performing Building Management Systems function for a large premises portfolio.\nExperience of presenting, analysing and interpretation of Building Management Systems data.\nExcellent communication and customer centric skills.\nA collaborative leader who offers support to the wider organisation.\nHigh level of organisational skills, being able to balance competing priorities to meet strict deadlines and schedules.\nEssential\n\nDegree or HNC in BMS Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).\nBuilding Controls Industry Association (BCIA)/Technical Certification in BMS/Controls systems at Level 3 or above\nDesirable\n\nNEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)\nIdeally you will have knowledge and experience equal to the Trend Expert competency level and have the ability to confidently modify software and schematics for 963 & IQVision.\nYou will be confident in the use of SET and or an alternative Software Engineering Tool.\nHave a strong knowledge of two BMS solutions with the ability to design / modify software and schematics.\nBe experienced in integrating solutions / systems through a number of different protocols including Modbus, MBus, Bacnet.\nIdeally have a good knowledge of IT networks and IP Configuration\n\nTo apply for this role please submit your latest CV or contact Aspect Resources on (phone number removed)\n\nDisability Confident \n\nAs a member of the disability confident scheme, CLIENT guarantees to interview all candidates who have a disability and who meet all the essential criteria for the vacancy.
