This role is ideal for a coach who already holds Introduction to Coaching Football / FA Level 1 and wants to progress towards the UEFA C Diploma. We are building a clear coach development pathway within Sporting CP Academy London. Coaches who show reliability, professionalism, good coaching standards and commitment to the academy may be considered for UEFA C sponsorship after an initial 3-month review period. Coaches will be expected to deliver sessions in line with the Sporting CP Academy coaching methodology, with guidance and feedback provided to support consistent standards across the programme. Sessions take place in Feltham on: Thursday evenings: 5pm to 7pm Saturday mornings: 10am to 12pm There may also be an opportunity for the right coach to take charge of an academy team, with the age group to be discussed based on experience, suitability and academy needs. Match days are primarily on Sunday mornings. Coach development opportunity Suitable coaches may be considered for support towards the UEFA C Diploma after 3 months of reliable coaching services with the academy. Where eligible, coaches will be expected to apply for available England Football funding first. Sporting CP Academy London may then contribute towards or cover the remaining course cost. Once the UEFA C Diploma has been successfully completed and official proof has been provided, the coach’s rate for future agreed coaching services will increase from £15 per hour to £25 per hour. UEFA C sponsorship is subject to suitability, performance, safeguarding compliance, availability, academy standards and a signed sponsorship agreement. What you will do • Deliver football coaching sessions for children aged 4 to 16, • Support structured sessions aligned with the Sporting CP Academy coaching methodology, • Create a safe, positive and inclusive coaching environment, • Communicate professionally with players, parents and academy staff, • Support match days, tournaments, camps and events where available, • For suitable candidates, take charge of an academy team, with the age group to be discussed, • Manage Sunday morning match days where required, • Liaise professionally with parents regarding match day arrangements, attendance and general team communication, • Help players develop technically, socially and personally Essential requirements • Introduction to Coaching Football / FA Level 1 or equivalent, • Genuine ambition to progress towards UEFA C, • Previous experience coaching children, • Reliable, professional and enthusiastic, • Able to travel to Feltham TW13, • Available on Thursday evenings, 5pm to 7pm, • Available on Saturday mornings, 10am to 12pm, • Open to Sunday morning match days if taking responsibility for a team, • FA Safeguarding Children Certificate, or willingness to update, • FA Emergency Aid / First Aid Certificate, or willingness to update, • Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain Preferred but not essential • UEFA C Diploma / FA Level 2, • Experience taking responsibility for a grassroots or academy team, • Confidence managing match days, • Good communication with parents, • Availability during school holiday camps, • Experience in grassroots, academy or development-centre football Engagement details • Self-employed / freelance role, • Coaches invoice for sessions delivered, • Coaches are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance, • Starting rate: £15 per hour for agreed coaching services, • Rate after UEFA C completion: £25 per hour for future agreed coaching services, • Required session days: Thursday 5pm to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 12pm, • Match days, where applicable, are primarily Sunday mornings, • Expected hours: around 3 to 6 hours per week, depending on agreed sessions and team responsibilities, • Additional opportunities may be available during camps, events and fixtures What we offer • Clear coaching progression pathway, • UEFA C sponsorship opportunity after 3 months, subject to suitability, • Support with the England Football funding process, • Rate increase after successful UEFA C completion, • Opportunity to work within an official Sporting CP Academy partner programme, • Guidance and feedback linked to the Sporting CP Academy coaching methodology, • Exposure to a structured academy environment with recognised international football standards, • Professional and supportive coaching environment, • Opportunity to take responsibility for an academy team, subject to suitability, • Opportunity to grow with a developing academy in West London Safeguarding Sporting CP Academy London is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
