What do we do? \n Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payment infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we're a Merchant of Record for our customers. This role owns the commercial mandate to grow that significantly. Not just to run self-serve, but to build the strategy for where and how it scales, and execute against it. \n We're hiring a Director of Self-Serve to take full commercial ownership of Paddle's self-serve motion, running and scaling it as a business line. Self-serve is a material and fast-moving part of our revenue, and it needs an owner who thinks in unit economics, not just funnel metrics. \n You'll set the strategic direction, and work across Finance, Product, Engineering, Demand Generation, Partnerships, and RevOps to align everyone behind it. Getting this right is a genuinely cross-functional endeavour, and your ability to bring people with you will be just as important as your commercial acumen. \n You'll operate with a small, focused team including engineering capacity. This is a role for someone who wants to build and run the engine hands on, not manage through layers. \n What you'll do \n Own the line. Carry the commercial number for self-serve end to end, from acquisition through adoption, to revenue and net retention. Own the unit economics, and how they improve. \n Set the strategy. Form a clear commercial view of where self-serve creates value, ensure Finance and Product alignment, and translate it into a plan the business can execute against. \n Own activation and time-to-value. Evolve who and how we onboard through self-serve, how we nurture them through lifecycle stages, and the in-product experience that gets them to value fast. Increasing volume while decreasing time-to-value, not trading one for the other. You fundamentally approach the self-serve experience as a product, running structured discovery and experimentation, not defaulting to only marketing levers. \n Shape the demand. Define the customer profile that makes the economics work and work collaboratively with Demand Generation on the targeting you need, co-owning a single funnel against a shared ICP. \n Orchestrate cross-functionally. Codify the work into clear streams with clear owners, influence the Product, Engineering, and Risk roadmaps, and run a regular business cadence that keeps people aligned on priorities and impact. \n Deepen partner integrations. Work hand-in-glove with Partnerships to turn distribution relationships into deep well-integrated channels, owning the commercial outcome of partner-sourced volume. \n Build and run the engine. Design and run the experimentation, tooling, and tracking to improve funnel codification, time-to-value, activation, and conversion using AI where it raises velocity and quality, applied to the right customer. As the motion scales, you'll shape the team around it. \n Make the economics stack up. Working closely with finance you own self-serve pricing and packaging as a lever, to ensure profitable scale. \n How you operate \n Go get the answer yourself. When something doesn't add up, you pull the data, run the analysis, and don't wait to be handed a conclusion. Self-reliance is core to how you operate, not a fallback when support isn't available. \n You interrogate, not just observe. Live the 'five whys' principle, with the ability to take a plausible looking number, trend, signal and stress-test it until you've found the actual driver, not the first explanation that fits. You default to hypothesis and experiment before you default to opinion or output, treating the funnel as something to be iteratively shaped, not just optimised within. \n Given a mission, you don't let go of it. This is not a marketing or website role. The focus is purely on CRM, sales operations, customer service and account management workflows. We're hiring a Director of Self-Serve to take full commercial ownership of Paddle's self-serve motion, running and scaling it as a business line. Self-serve is a material and fast-moving part of our revenue, and it needs an owner who thinks in unit economics, not just funnel metrics. You'll set the strategic direction, and work across Finance, Product, Engineering, Demand Generation, Partnerships, and RevOps to align everyone behind it. Getting this right is a genuinely cross-functional endeavour, and your ability to bring people with you will be just as important as your commercial acumen. You'll operate with a small, focused team including engineering capacity. This is a role for someone who wants to build and run the engine hands on, not manage through layers. Own the line. Carry the commercial number for self-serve end to end, from acquisition through adoption, to revenue and net retention. Own the unit economics, and how they improve. Set the strategy. Form a clear commercial view of where self-serve creates value, ensure Finance and Product alignment, and translate it into a plan the business can execute against. Own activation and time-to-value. Evolve who and how we onboard through self-serve, how we nurture them through lifecycle stages, and the in-product experience that gets them to value fast. Increasing volume while decreasing time-to-value, not trading one for the other. You fundamentally approach the self-serve experience as a product, running structured discovery and experimentation, not defaulting to only marketing levers. Shape the demand. Define the customer profile that makes the economics work and work collaboratively with Demand Generation on the targeting you need, co-owning a single funnel against a shared ICP. Orchestrate cross-functionally. Codify the work into clear streams with clear owners, influence the Product, Engineering, and Risk roadmaps, and run a regular business cadence that keeps people aligned on priorities and impact. Deepen partner integrations. Work hand-in-glove with Partnerships to turn distribution relationships into deep well-integrated channels, owning the commercial outcome of partner-sourced volume. Build and run the engine. Design and run the experimentation, tooling, and tracking to improve funnel codification, time-to-value, activation, and conversion using AI where it raises velocity and quality, applied to the right customer. As the motion scales, you'll shape the team around it. Make the economics stack up. Working closely with finance you own self-serve pricing and packaging as a lever, to ensure profitable scale. Go get the answer yourself. When something doesn't add up, you pull the data, run the analysis, and don't wait to be handed a conclusion. Our engineering team is small, senior, and deeply invested in the craft of building cutting edge, reliable, high-performance systems. We're hiring the first dedicated Technical Delivery Analyst. You will own the delivery of software projects end-to-end — from requirements through to production — working alongside engineers to ensure work lands on time, risks are visible, and stakeholders always know where things stand. As our engineering organisation grows into more specialised teams, you are the person who sits across the space between them — owning the dependencies, coordination, and communication that no single team owns. This is not an administrative role. You need to understand the technology being built, speak credibly with engineers about architecture and trade-offs, and translate technical reality into clear communication for the business. You are the person who knows what is happening, why it matters, and what might go wrong — and you make sure everyone else knows too. You will work closely with the Head of Technical Delivery and daily with Engineering, TechOps, and Product, with regular interaction with client-facing teams (Sales, Client Services). The role offers a clear path to Delivery Manager as the team grows and you take on broader ownership. Delivery Ownership: Own projects from inception to production — responsible for outcomes, not just process Understand technical scope, architecture, and dependencies well enough to anticipate problems before they surface Ensure infrastructure, testing, performance, and operational readiness are considered from the start Know the current state of your projects at all times Communication: Communicate early and often — bad news delivered early is manageable; bad news delivered late is a crisis Provide honest, accurate status updates — never spin, never hide, never assume someone else will raise it Tailor to the audience — technical detail for engineers, business impact for leadership, actionable clarity for everyone Technical Engagement: Participate meaningfully in technical discussions — you don't write code, but you understand what is being built and why Engage with engineers on architecture, dependencies, and integration points to accurately assess delivery risk Bridge engineering and business by translating technical constraints into language stakeholders can act on Risk Management: Identify risks early through genuine understanding of the work, not by reading ticket statuses Escalate with context — what is the risk, what is the impact, what are the options Contribute to post-incident reviews with a delivery lens — impact, learnings, prevention Continuous Improvement: Look for friction in how work flows and propose practical improvements Experiment with AI tooling to improve delivery efficiency — reporting, analysis, coordination, and communication Maintain delivery tooling as a means to an end, not an end in itself Technical: 2+ years' experience in technical delivery, project management, or software engineering Previously worked as a software developer, or strong hands-on technical experience with software systems Comfortable reading code, reviewing pull requests for context, and understanding technical trade-offs without simplification Knows what "done" looks like in production — tested, deployed, monitored, documented Familiarity with Agile practices and tools (Jira, Confluence) — values principles over ceremony Financial services or trading technology experience is a strong advantage How you work: You own it. Updating a board is not the same as delivering software. You impose structure where needed without over-engineering process You stay technically curious. You genuinely want to understand how systems work and fit together. You don't simplify away the complexity that matters You write things down.
