Your Role As our SMS Manager, you will be the nominated post holder for all Safran Electrical & Power UK's approvals under UK CAA & EASA Part 21J (Design), 21G (Production), and Part 145 (Maintenance). You will be responsible for the full development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Safety Management System across our Pitstone (UK) and Twinsburg (US) sites. As a key facilitator for change, you will promote a strong safety culture throughout the organisation and help drive continuous compliance with airworthiness and safety standards. Develop, implement, and supervise the Safety Management System (SMS) in alignment with UK CAA and EASA regulations across both sites, ensuring full compliance for Design, Production, and Maintenance. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the SMS, initiating corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives as needed. Promote safety awareness and ensure safety management is prioritised at the highest levels of the organisation. Drive compliance and demonstration of airworthiness across all projects and departments. Coordinate training to increase airworthiness and SMS awareness; serve as a safety mentor to staff and contractors. Investigate or coordinate the investigation of accidents, incidents, and hazards; maintain safety reporting systems and internal/external safety audit programmes. Provide regular SMS performance data to management and facilitate weekly safety review meetings. Act as primary coordinator with regulatory authorities for occurrence and mandatory reports (MORs). Oversee the emergency response plan and contribute to overall safety culture development.
