Founded in 1903, Hale Golf Club is a prestigious private 9-hole golf club with approximately 500 members, located in the affluent area of South Trafford, around ten miles south of Manchester city centre. The club is renowned for the quality of its course and its scenic setting alongside the River Bollin. Option 1 Club Manager (employed) The Club Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the clubhouse, overseeing front-of-house service, bar operations, staffing, budgets, compliance, and member liaison. Key aspects of the role include: Providing strong, hands-on leadership to clubhouse staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management Managing bar and front-of-house operations, ensuring licensing, health & safety, and operational compliance Overseeing catering operations in partnership with a separately appointed head chef Managing budgets, controlling costs, and overseeing supplier and contractor relationships Accommodation & Remuneration Package: Competitive salary, reflecting experience and responsibilities Live-in accommodation provided in a three-bedroom, unfurnished cottage, rent, utility bills, and council tax included OR Option 2 Steward & Chef Couple (self-employed / franchise arrangement) Applications are invited from ambitious, proactive individuals to operate a traditional Steward & Chef model, taking full responsibility for the clubhouse, bar, and catering operations. This is a hands-on position, well suited to a couple who enjoy working closely together and who take pride in delivering consistently high standards of food, service, and presentation in a private members golf club environment.
