What the role looks like You will be trusted to handle a range of commercial motor trade risks, trade with brokers and help shape profitable outcomes across the portfolio. The work covers both new business and existing accounts, with a clear focus on service, relationship management and underwriting discipline. Responsibilities • Underwrite new and existing commercial Motor Trade risks, • Trade with brokers and build long-term relationships, • Assess risk, negotiate terms and support profitable growth, • Manage cases in line with underwriting appetite, service standards and governance, • Work closely with colleagues across the wider mid-market and commercial teams, • Contribute ideas around service, trading and portfolio improvement Who this could suit • An experienced Motor Trade Underwriter from an insurer or broker environment, • Someone who enjoys the trading side of underwriting, not just the admin, • A technically sound underwriter who can balance service with profitability, • A relationship-led individual who is credible with brokers, • Someone organised, collaborative and confident enough to make decisions and ask questions You do not need to tick every box perfectly - what matters most is solid motor trade underwriting experience, the right attitude and the ability to trade.
