Operating across the United Kingdom, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States, Trustlife integrates large-scale human multi-omics data, advanced AI platforms, and fully integrated preclinical R&D capabilities to develop next-generation medicines at unprecedented speed and efficiency. Role Overview We are seeking a Scientific Grant Writer to identify funding opportunities and lead the preparation of competitive submissions to major UK and European research funding bodies. The ideal candidate has a strong scientific writing background and a proven record of winning translational biomedical grants. Key funding channels include: • UKRI (Innovate UK, MRC, BBSRC), • NIHR (i4i), • CRUK, Wellcome Trust, • Horizon Europe and related EU schemes Key Responsibilities • Monitor funding calls & maintain deadlines calendar, • Assess strategic fit and recommend opportunities, • Lead drafting and structuring of full proposals, • Translate technical content into compelling narratives, • Align submissions with call criteria & evaluation frameworks, • Coordinate scientific, commercial, and partner inputs, • Ensure compliance with formatting, documentation & word limits, • Manage multiple timelines and submissions in parallel, • Incorporate reviewer feedback to improve future proposals, • Availability to attend in-person strategic grant meetings at the office on an ad-hoc basis as required. Required Qualifications • 3+ years of successful grant writing with UKRI or equivalent funding bodies, • Demonstrated successful trajectory securing successful applications for grants from at least one major UK funding body (e.g. UKRI, NIHR, Wellcome Trust)., • Strong scientific writing, structuring, and storytelling skills, • Ability to digest complex scientific material quickly, • Understanding of drug discovery, pre-clinical research, and health technologies, • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, • Comfortable operating independently in a remote setting Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Horizon Europe proposals & consortium building, • Familiarity with systems biology or modelling platforms, • Exposure to biotech/pharma environments, • Understanding of commercialisation, regulation, and health economics
