The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the company's reputation for prompt service. Responsibilities • Safely operate vehicles, including vans or lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations., • Plan efficient delivery routes to optimise time and fuel consumption., • Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit., • Deliver parcels, documents, or other items to specified addresses within designated timeframes., • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery from recipients., • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes., • Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly., • Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred., • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record., • Experience in commercial driving or operating larger vehicles such as vans or lorries is advantageous., • Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with heavy lifting tasks are desirable., • Strong organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage deliveries efficiently., • Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members professionally., • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and punctuality., • Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and prolonged periods of driving or standing during shifts.
