This will involve monitoring several busy mailboxes and triaging a high volume of emails for allocation to the correct teams. Additionally, the role holder will also be responsible for identifying trends in these areas and reporting them to the Regulatory Manager.You will be delivering training remotely to partner company employees and providing support to them. You will also need analytical skills and the ability to produce generated reports quickly and efficiently and follow-up actions on a daily basis. You may well come from a financial services background, but candidates with relevant experience gained in other sectors will also be considered. You will require excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will ideally live within a reasonable commute of Farnborough. What you'll get in return Hybrid working, with 2-3 days a week in the office and the remainder from home. Hours 9am -5.15pm Hourly pay from £16-19ph (PAYE) + holiday pay The assignment runs to the end of December initially and is highly likely to extend for a longer term. As a PKI Support/Operator within our Client Delivery and Managed Services function, you will provide 3rd and 4th line break/fix support of the PKI Managed Service and supporting infrastructure alongside day-to-day client request and fulfilment. The role involves responding to incidents, performing root cause analysis, executing planned changes, and supporting continuous improvement of IT services in alignment with business needs and security best practices. You should have a strong understanding of cryptographic principles, security best practices, and the ability to work with customer of the service to ensure performance, integrity and security. Additionally, you will be required to stay updated on industry standards and emerging technologies is crucial for effective PKI support. Key Responsibilities Operational Support & Incident Management · Provide 2nd/3rd line support for PKI services and supporting infrastructure, including root, subordinate, and issuing CA’s · Troubleshoot and resolve certificate issuance, revocation, auto-enrolment, and chain validation issues. · Manage and respond to incidents, service requests, and change tickets within SLA. Infrastructure support & maintenance · Manage and respond to infrastructure focussed service requests such as: Provision/de-provision AzureAD accounts Setup SSO for applications Monitor of Microsoft Defender portal and respond to security alerts Configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Intune Certificate Lifecycle Management · Assist with certificate requests, renewals, revocations, and rekeying operations. · Monitor and ensure timely renewal of critical certificates to prevent outages. · Maintain inventory of issued certificates and their expiration timelines. System Monitoring and Maintenance · Monitor the health of CA services, CRLs, OCSP responders, and AIA/CDP availability. · Ensure regular backups of CA keys, databases, configurations, platforms and state. · Conduct patching and updates of PKI-related servers and services. · Carry out collection, reporting and remediation tasks in order to maintain a crypto inventory Compliance and Security · Ensure adherence to security best practices and organisational Certificate Policies (CP) and Certification Practice Statements (CPS). · Review and manage audit logs for CA operations and maintain documentation for compliance. · Implement role-based access control, separation of duties, and HSM usage per policy. · Maintain accurate documentation of PKI processes, configurations, and procedures. · Implement and enforce revocation policies. Technical Skills and Experience · An understanding of Public Key Infrastructure concepts, including certificate authorities (Root, Subordinate, Issuing), CRLs, OCSP, and key management. · Windows Server Administration: Proficient in administering Windows Server, particularly Active Directory. · Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and common network services. · Ability to execute PowerShell scripts for automating certificate tasks and system checks. · Awareness of role-based access control, key protection standards (e.g., FIPS 140-2), and separation of duties in secure environments. · Experience using Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-ins, event logs, and SIEM platforms to identify and resolve issues proactively. · Experience with IT asset management tools related to discovery and information collection · Understanding of backup procedures. · Ability to document technical processes. · Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL). · Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, Intune). · Familiarity with regulatory frameworks: NIST, GDPR, etc. Proficiency in technical documentation (MS Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel). Soft Skills and Experience · Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and documenting processes · Analytical mindset and problem-solving capability. · Detail-oriented and compliance-focused. · Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams. · Can follow written processes. In this role, you will help ensure the smooth and compliant movement of goods across borders. Key Responsibilities: Customs Compliance & Classification • Work with the Global Compliance Director to create and implement Global Customs compliance processes. • Support the Compliance team with provision of relevant in-person trainings on customs topics that pertains to the various teams. • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to classify products accurately using Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes • Partner with materials management teams to review and classify inbound shipments to ensure accurate customs declarations. • Liaise with materials management teams to record and track packaging data for UK Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting. • Work with regulatory teams to obtain Type Approval Certificates and other necessary regulatory clearances. • Facilitate product import/export to ensure compliance with U.K. and foreign customs agency requirements. • Create standard operating procedures for customs brokers and third-party logistics services providers. • Manage Temporary Shipments to eliminate double duty payments. Import & Export Coordination • Liaise with customs brokers in the UK and Kenya to ensure proper importation procedures and accurate documentation. • Coordinate with exports teams to secure all necessary licences and clearances for importation. Financial Reconciliation • Collaborate with finance and tax teams/advisers to reconcile quoted duties with actual duty payments, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies. • Work with procurement and logistics to validate the PO as it pertains to duty and customs payments. Licence & Record Management • Maintain an accurate count of licences in coordination with logistics. • Track and manage the expiration and renewal of import/export licences. Collaboration & Communication • Serve as the main point of contact between internal departments and external customs brokers to resolve any import/export issues. • Stay current with customs regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines. • Collaborate with the POC for the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool to get all export and customs compliance information within the tool, • Work with Logistics to review and update the Product Matrix with accurate and current classifications. Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor's degree in International Trade Compliance, Customs, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Previous experience in customs compliance, international trade, or a related field. • Strong knowledge of HTS codes, import/export regulations, and customs procedures. • Familiarity with Type Approval Certification, and export/import licensing requirements. • Experience working with customs brokers, third party logistics providers and applicable regulatory agencies. • Proficiency in ERP and PLM systems is a plus. • Experience working with international markets. • Experience working in Kenya a bonus.
