Job Title: Commercial Fit-out Surveyor / Estimator Location: IFSE Head Office, 14 Progress Business Park, Croydon, CR0 4XD Salary: Competitive Job type: Full time, Permanent Due to a high level of inbound enquiries and upcoming projects, we're looking to add a commercial fit-out surveyor/estimator to add to our projects team. About The Role: The company undertakes restaurant design and build contracts from concept to completion and the surveyor/estimator will be responsible for creating the scope of work and estimate for the finishes and M&E elements of the projects, to include: • Site safety and prelims, • Demolitions, • Partitions, • Joinery, • Wall Finishes, • Floor Finishes, • Ceilings, • Electrical Work, • Lighting, • HVAC, • Plumbing Works, • Site supervision The candidate will report to IFSE Projects Director and will also assist the 6-strong team of project managers with co-ordination and advice on the building works/fitout elements of the projects, to include research and sourcing of relevant materials. ifse have several teams of builders and establishing a good rapport with these teams is essential. General building works are priced by IFSE and allocated to relevant build team with agreement established on the order value to the builders and other sub-contractors. Orders are either based on estimation by IFSE or specific prices obtained by the estimator from sub-contractors for more specialist works. IFSE are looking for the successful candidate to create a systemised process for pricing of works and management of costings. Experience or research to enable the Introduction of a specialised IT programme is required for this role. The cost breakdown for the client presentation will be prepared in a detailed and professional manner. The candidate will also collaborate closely with the team to co-ordinate and assist with the programming/scheduling of elements of the project to ensure a successful contract delivery. The role will also provide support to our Compliance team who are responsible for the compliance and co-ordination of H&S documentation and site safety. Ability to understand technical drawings for all elements of the project is essential and co-ordination with the IFSE design team on finishes details will be required. Client Collaboration & Communication • Build strong rapport with clients and present creative ideas with clarity, thought and confidence., • Attend project and design meetings, providing both conceptual and strategic design input., • Secure Creative or Design Director approval before handing designs to Project Managers. Technical Expertise • Demonstrate strong understanding of print technologies (flexo, litho, digital, gravure) and how they influence design decisions., • Work closely with artwork, production and repro teams to ensure design intent is maintained through to final print., • Prepare files that meet all technical requirements and provide clear direction for artwork refinement., • Brief and collaborate with external partners such as illustrators, photographers and mock-up suppliers when required. Team Leadership & Mentoring • Serve as a role model for junior designers, inspiring, directing and mentoring them throughout all project stages., • Provide constructive feedback and support junior designers to ensure work is on brief, on time, and in line with companyvalues., • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal design processes, workflow efficiency and overall creative quality. Innovation & Trend Awareness • Keep up to date with design, packaging, sustainability, and retail trends, bringing fresh inspiration into the studio, includingair efficiencies., • Identify opportunities for innovation in structure, materials, and visual communication to elevate client work.
