Graduate Chemist / Laboratory Technician \n Surrey – Fully onsite \n £25,000 \n Permanent, full-time \n \n We are recruiting a motivated science graduate to join a well-established international business operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Surrey. \n This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry or related science graduate to gain valuable industrial laboratory experience. You will receive structured training in sensory assessment, physical testing and a range of analytical techniques within the flavours, fragrances and natural-products sector. \n \n The role: \n\n • Manage the receipt, handling and dispatch of laboratory samples.\n, • Maintain accurate sample records and keep storage areas organised.\n, • Liaise with logistics, sales and quality teams to coordinate sample requirements.\n, • Communicate updates and help resolve sample-related delays.\n, • Participate in sensory training covering olfactory families, aroma chemicals and natural products.\n, • Support the physical testing and organoleptic evaluation of samples.\n, • Contribute to flavour and fragrance development projects and customer presentations.\n, • Gain exposure to techniques including GC, HPLC and titration.\n\n \n About you: \n\n • A recent degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.\n, • A genuine interest in flavours, fragrances, essential oils and natural products.\n, • Good basic laboratory and computer skills.\n, • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.\n, • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.\n, • Able to prioritise multiple tasks and work effectively within a team.\n, • Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic about learning new techniques.\n\n \n Previous industrial experience is not essential. This opportunity is ideally suited to a graduate looking to establish their career within a creative, technical and fast-paced laboratory environment.
