Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work Full Time based in for Acorn House Fostering Services Ltd, based within Oldham. The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £40,000per annum.Main duties: • Recruit, assess, and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster Carers and take responsibility for ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, protected and learning environment for children/young people., • Ensure that carers fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representation procedures as detailed in the Acorn House policies and procedures., • To keep accurate and up to date case records of ongoing support and supervision of foster carers and record significant occurrences or incidents in line with current legislation., • To work in partnership with Local Authorities liaising with appropriate Managers and Social Workers and ensuring information is given o facilitate matching children’s needs to suitable foster carers., • Social Workers should ensure that all of their Carers have an accurate and up to date Assessment available that meets the needs of OFSTED, internal compliance and customers and update these as appropriate and in accordance with policies and procedures., • Ensure each child has an accurate and up to date Care Plan on file that Carers have a copy available for reference., • Work in partnership with the relevant authority to ensure that the child and young person’s needs as identified in the Care Plan and place agreement are met., • Ensure that comprehensive case recording are completed and maintained within policy timeframes., • Attend meetings and/or provide reports for Commissioning Teams to address individual packages of care., • Contribute towards the growth and development of the business by implementing key areas identified in the business plan agreed through supervision., • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the different placement packages and identify recharges where appropriate., • Take responsibility for all administration in relation to the social work task to include file administration, typing all communication, reports and case recordings., • The post holder will be expected to undertake training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post., • A social Work Qualification or equivalent., • Understanding of relevant legislation., • Registered or eligible for registration., • Competitive salary with up to £40,000 (DOE), • Car allowance, • Company pension, • Excellent training and development opportunities, • Stable role within a supportive, family-run agency, • Manageable caseloads focused on meaningful work
