Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer - Manufacturing Location: Selby Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm. (plus 1 in 8 on call) Salary: £48,000 - £55,000 Benefits: • Company pension, • Life insurance, • 25 days holiday plus bank holiday, • Private medical insurance, • Length of Service Bonus Key Responsibilities: We are looking for someone who will provide electrical and instrumentation; repair and maintenance service. • Run the day to day operations of Boilers, Gas Turbines and skids, • Monitoring boiler and water treatment plant and adjusting settings., • Monitoring running conditions of the burning of process gas and adjusting fuel combinations, • Liaison with Engineering and Production departments., • Effectively carry out planned, predictive and reactive electrical maintenance, • Fault finding, Testing, Calibration, Installation & Commissioning of our broad range of process instrumentation, • Isolation of all electrical plant to comply with permit to work procedure., • Carry out fault diagnosis and rectification solutions., • Installation and commissioning of new and repaired machinery and equipment;, • Carry out all work safely, in accordance with site safety procedures and trade related working practices. What We’re Looking For: • A recognised electrical/C&I engineering apprenticeship ideally gained in a heavy process industry, • HNC in electrical/automation discipline is desirable, • Competent in all forms of isolation, electrical safety and safe panel entry Suited candidates previously hold roles such as: Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer, EC&I Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Engineer, Automation Engineer, Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, Robotics Engineer, Installation Technician. Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer Location: Selby, North Yorkshire Salary: £50000 + on-call bonus+ excellent benefits We’re working with a well-established European manufacturer to recruit an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Selby. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced process environment, where you’ll be responsible for maintaining and operating key plant systems including CHP, boilers and water treatment. It’s a varied position that blends day-to-day operations with fault finding, maintenance and continuous improvement. The Role You’ll support the safe and efficient running of site utilities and production systems, ensuring plant reliability and performance is maintained at all times. Alongside maintenance work, you’ll also be involved in plant operations, monitoring conditions and making adjustments to optimise performance and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor boilers, CHP (gas turbines) and water treatment systems Adjust plant settings in line with production demands and process conditions Liaise with production teams to manage steam and power requirements Carry out planned, reactive and predictive electrical and instrumentation maintenance Fault find, test, calibrate and commission a wide range of instrumentation Diagnose faults and implement effective repair solutions Support installation and commissioning of new equipment Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site procedures Carry out electrical isolations and support permit-to-work systems Support HV operations (training provided if needed) About You Time-served electrical or C&I apprenticeship, ideally within a process or heavy industry environment HNC (or similar) in Electrical / Automation engineering would be beneficial Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and instrumentation systems Experience working with plant such as CHP, boilers or utilities (or willingness to learn) Good understanding of electrical schematics and installations Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks A practical, hands-on approach with a focus on completing work to a high standard What’s On Offer 40-hour week, Monday to Friday Days On-call rota with £250/week allowance Overtime paid (Saturday x1.5, Sunday x2) 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) Generous pension scheme Private healthcare Life assurance This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a technically varied role, with training available on HV operations and CHP systems.
